2019 Lakeside PLAYERS THAT ATTEMPTED TO WIN A TOURCARD

Scott Baker- CARD WON OUTRIGHT
Mark McGeeney- CARD WON OUTRIGHT
Glen Durrant - CARD WON - ONLY VIA A PLACE IN THE LEAGUE TABLE
Conan Whitehead - CARD WON - ONLY VIA A PLACE IN THE LEAGUE TABLE
Lisa Ashton - FAILED
Jim Williams - FAILED
Wes Newton - FAILED
David Cameron - FAILED
Daniel Day - FAILED
Andy Hamilton - FAILED
Scott Waites - FAILED
Kyle McKinstry - FAILED
Lorraine Winstanley - FAILED
Ana Dobromyslova - FAILED
Mark McGrath - FAILED
Fallon Sherrock - FAILED
Corrine Hammond - FAILED
Deta Hedman - FAILED
Dean Reynolds - FAILED
Only 3 of those names really disappointed (Williams, Waites and McKinstry I'd have expected to at least be there or thereabouts), Duzza would have been expected to win one easier than he did, but Baker, McGeeney and Whitehead did well to win one. I'd say that's about a par score for the Lakeside players myself
I agree with your assessment think Lisa Ashton exceeded everyone’s expectations. Daniel Day, McKinstry and in particular Scott Waites were utterly shocking.
Didn't play at lakeside but an honourable mention to Carl Wilkinson picking up a card.

Murphio wrote:If the BDO is allowed a free hand to pick its Grand Slam entrants it has a decision to make. Their No.1 ranked player has joined the PDC but obviously McGeeney will no longer have a ranking so that isn't really a factor but how can they possibly leave out the reigning Lakeside champion - and would the PDC even allow that to happen? If Durrant does get in the Slam as a BDO qualifier - as I pointed out a few pages back - he effectively starts his campaign to make Ally Pally with at least 3k on his ranking OOM before he throws a dart. Could make a huge difference given Mark Webster sneaked in by just £50 in his first PDC year.
Think this could all mean changes will be made. Maybe there will be an insistence that Durrant is there and they then pick the other seven.
I agree - but I'd also argue, in the interests of fairness, that any money Duzza wins at the Slam should not count towards his OOM total since he qualified from the BDO route (unless he qualifies through a PDC route in the meantime). Doesn't seem right to me that he is guaranteed to have at least 3k tacked on to his OOM total in November before he has even chucked a dart in the PDC.
Whatever he wins at the Slam won't have an impact anyway first year. The one year pro tour OoM would be his route to get into the worlds like with all the other new card holders. None are likely to make top 32 in the main two year list before the end of November bar the year of their life and in that case they would have got in via the Pro Tour list anyway.
Aye, true enough. Fair point.

Why didn't you enter Q School despite months of saying you would, Dave?

He's entered the Scottish Open this year, so looks like he'll be keeping BDO Worlds as a possibility as well
Or it’s just a local event to him so if can he may as well enter it anyway. He did okay on the Challenge tour last so hopefully he can be lucky and win his card through that route this year.
Quite possibly, but with him also playing county, the British Isles Regional table may be worth him keeping an eye on

Being next on the list doesn’t get into pro tours.

Reserves for Pro Tour places are based on Challenge Tour performance, aren't they?

Here's the 4th one. I know the blue crayons are delicious but you have to leave them alone.

Poor first day, but then picked up her game. Going from 70s, 80s, to more in the 90s.
Big tournament, and averaged half a dart above her normal standard overall, while also putting in some excellent individual games.
I think Ashton's performance and the other women who turned up and competed should encourage the PDC to repeat their Qualifiers.

Uk open places will be finalised today with all 128 tour card holders getting a spot and the best 16 challenge tour players that didn’t get a tour card

Means Duzzas first major will be March

Will Cadby be able to attend though and if he isn’t will they give his spot to someone else.
He still has a tour card so it’s up to his visa

No idea who gets it otherwise, would guess the next place on the challenge tour if he pulls out before the draw

Are you not giving the Challenge Tour a go?

Sorry if you've already said and I've missed it.
