Re: 2019 PDC Challenge Tour
Can see this Challenge Tour season being even more crucial than last year's. Last year there were generally about 10-15 TC holders skipping, now looking through the current list, I can't see an awful lot of players deciding to put their feet up on PC weekends (apart from Cadby of course)

Rob Cross has said he will probably miss a few Pro tours this year to take more breaks..Barney may be more committed..well see ..but I can see a lot playing most so you'd probably have to be right at the top of the Challenge tour rankings after the first weekend to get in the first few Pro Tour weekends

What’s the ruling if a challenge tour player qualifies for the pro tour and plays on it can they play in BDO events aswell? Or are they technically a PDC then?

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge Tour
Not that exbos mean much, but Clayton hit some absolutely superb form in patches last year, and is jacking in his job to become a full-time pro now. I definitely think he'll have another good yearphil davies wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 10:01 pmWe shall see with Barney. He didn’t look great at an exbo I went to last Friday (yes I know it’s only an exbo but still). I honestly think he has just had enough of the whole thing TBH. But we shall see if he does truly commit himself to his final year. Interestingly enough for anyone wanting to back an outsider. Clayton was averaging 105+ in his matches at that exbo so if he can produce even close to that he might give MvG a very good game at the masters.trotter01 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:37 pm Rob Cross has said he will probably miss a few Pro tours this year to take more breaks..Barney may be more committed..well see ..but I can see a lot playing most so you'd probably have to be right at the top of the Challenge tour rankings after the first weekend to get in the first few Pro Tour weekends

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge Tour
Peter Wright started to miss a few events last year after years or playing just about every tournament going, so he might miss some as the season wears on. Can't see many, if any (Cadby aside of course) who might miss the first event of the season thoughtrotter01 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:37 pm Rob Cross has said he will probably miss a few Pro tours this year to take more breaks..Barney may be more committed..well see ..but I can see a lot playing most so you'd probably have to be right at the top of the Challenge tour rankings after the first weekend to get in the first few Pro Tour weekends

I really dont see many challenge tour players doing the full tour, didnt happen last year.
The only people i see coming and going are the people that think they have a genuine chance at lakeside (Hamilton, Reynolds, WIlliams ect)

There was a situation where a player played on the PDC Pro tour who tried to qualify for Lakeside the week before.
Now the BDO have get rid of all rules it makes sense if the PDC do nothing. Let people make choices, There isnt a split anymore

Re: 2019 PDC Challenge Tour
Doing nothing plays a risky game because it only takes one person to push his look with what he can and cant do any then it will kick off like it has in the past with players dropping out of tournaments when a live stream starts.oche balboa wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:08 pmZapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:04 pmMancheStar wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 9:58 pm What’s the ruling if a challenge tour player qualifies for the pro tour and plays on it can they play in BDO events aswell? I think the PDC may release some kind of official clarification, IE Tour Card holders can only play PDC affiliated tournaments, Challenge tour players who have played in pro tour events cant try to qualify for lakeside, everyone else is free to do as they wish.

Re: Challenge Tour 2019
How did you get on at Q School? Did you take any positives from it?
Day 1 for me was awful , hadn’t played in such an oppressive atmosphere and it really got to me , Adam Bull played ok but I made him look like a world beater.
Day 2 scrappy start but had some nice moments against Brian Hallas with a 161 out and a 13 darter to win the decider, then playing Dan Lauby hitting a 170 out and getting a chance to win the match but sadly throwing two bloody awful darts at D16
Day 3 No idea what happened , played a muppet and just couldn’t get my arm to go where it was supposed to, snatching , pushing, pulling , you name it, anything you can do to a dart to fuck up, I did it! Worst 27 mins of my darting life.
Day 4 Started with great apprehension because of day 3, wasn’t pushed or troubled at all in the first two games , knew I had to improve hugely against Carl Wilkinson who already had his card in the bag. Again some good moments in the match without being able to say I played really well, last leg was dogshit ! But managed to Nick it.
Rees Hall was sadly there for the taking but my doubles deserted me , missing tops for a 125 in the first, two at D8 in the second , a lovely 141 out in the fourth but another missed chance at D18/D9 in Leg 6, on the whole a lot of positives for me but I can’t point to one game and say “bloody hell I played well there” work to do

Gonna be interesting to see whether the usual BDO tourers pick the challenge tour or the Romanian open this week could set there paths for the whole season. Looking at the entry list for the Romania not many of the q school players on it.
