The way he’s been playing he won’t be good enough to qualify for it. But we shall see I guess. Is Waites down? Or has he simple decided to give up the BDO tour.

Hes been doing the least amount of floor tournaments possible for the last few years.

Can see him just doing Challenge tour, Euro tour qualifiers (if challenge tour players can), WDT, Masters and then whereverside.

Yeah, Waites didn't enter the Scottish Open last year. He has entered the Slovak Open and Slovak Masters in a couple of weeks, the Slovak Open was his only tour win last year. He will need to keep an eye on his ranking to qualify for the World Trophy.

Are there still wildcards for the world trophy? You’d think Waites would get one but then again I think he’s had one quarter final in the world trophy since it’s inception and lost first round (albeit a close match) every other time...

No wildcards since the first year iirc - which is a good thing!

Always get neigh sayers but the people making the calls / making the criteria for selection are not exactly fighting off folk who want to do the job when voting comes around for there re selection

I think for number of entry’s in men’s and woman’s the prize money is poor very top heavy £80 for last 16 with 700+ players in men’s and in the woman’s I think over 120 players they get quarter final £70

I think they should get with entry’s high 3.5k woman’s 9k men’s
75 150 300 500 1200 woman’s

25 50 125 250 500 1400 3000 men’s far less top heavy

While I agree with the prize money been miserable surely learned posters would realise the majority of players in Scotland open play for the enthusiasm of the sport/ hobby & not because they have turned themselves into a business where winning playing a sport pays the bills & all the taxable goodies that come with it,
