The venue can have a bearing on matters. I have posted the stats on who performs well at the Hydro for instance.

Exeter is a small venue which is only still on the PL circuit because it is close to Minehead. Perhaps Barney does not get as motivated by this small venue as say he does at Rotterdam or Glasgow.

We chat to Luke about his game with Gerwyn Price, reaching the quarter-finals at Ally Pally, his first year on the ProTour in 2018 and more

We also recap another weekend of ProTour action and discuss whether Gerwyn Price is now the scond-best player in the world, if Ricky Evans and Gabriel Clemens can reach the top 32 this year and who should be panicking after a slow start to the year.

We finish with our picks for the Premier League in Exeter tonight. Thank you for your support!

There's only so much you gauge from such a limited sample size, but there might be something in that. I mean almost everybody struggled at the first Worlds at Ally Pally

Yes.

It also doesnt take into account who their opponents were.

Well if it's the Premier League, then it's going to be a good opponent regardless tbf. I doubt they shunted Taylor-Barney out to Exeter anyway, so it's not like he's had an exceptionally hard run there

Be fair, they could be referring to his deep run at Ally Pally only a matter of weeks ago.
Well if not Price, who is? Ando has been out, Smith and Gurney have gone off the boil a bit, it's not as if there are tons of players playing consistently brilliant every single game

If people are seriously considering Price as the second best player in the world on the back of winning 2 floor events where MvG was absent from them, then I give up.

It's because it seems to be a continuation of form the latter part of the last season. He's been winning a lot of games with high averages (averaging over 99 from the Grand Slam onwards). Not only did he comfortably win the two events last weekend, he also played extremely well the event before, including in his loss to Durrant in the semi-final.

But, he's not been at that level on the stage, so it's way too early to call him a possible number 2. We'll see what happens as the furor over the Anderson game dies down.

Ratajski didn't play at Price's level.

But, Ratajski did it and gained even more respect than people already had for him. But he won at a time with peoples' minds on finals and the World Championship, so it didn't get as much attention as it would have earlier in the year.

wade is almost always on first, because mvg and others get top billing.

Lo and behold the first time wade plays in the prime 3 or 4th match its against MVG, in what will be a one sided game anyway.
