Showing consistency enough to get you into the top 16 or top 10 is easier than winning Major titles though I suspect in Glenn's case that is what we are more likely to see. That said I don't see a massive gap between him and say Daryl Gurney who has now collected two on TV. He'll need some luck.phil davies wrote: ↑Mon Feb 25, 2019 6:26 pm Duzza will easily be top 14 after his two years. How high up he gets and how well he does in the big events will be intresting to see. Chizzy seems to be playing decent again so might break back into the top 10 by the end of the year and Johnny Clayton should do so too given he is defending very little from two years ago.

Even if we are conservative and rate him inside the top 32 that would still be true. I'd say he is currently in and amongst the top 20 dart players about - inside that list you have guys like Steve West, Jonny Clayton, Mervyn King and Darren Webster - so it's hardly that much of a leap.

The Q School was him being nervous and playing badly. Dennant also had 3 darts to stop him qualifying for the PDC. That's where all the doubt comes from.
Then he lost his first match and people said "See, we told you!"
Then he made the final and people said "No, he's great!" "But he played badly in the final!"
And then he lost again in the first round and people said "See, just a one off!"
Then on the Sunday he won the event, with a bunch of good win against top players, including a great performance against Price, who won the next 2 events. "See, he's great!"
Then he qualified for a Euro Tour event and he's still great!
But he lost to Mansell so he sucks!
And he lost a lead against White in the last 16, so he sucks!
And he lost to Clemens, so he sucks!
Or maybe he's a very good player, but inconsistent. And maybe now that he's a pro he'll get better, or maybe he won't.
I think it's going to be enjoyable finding out, especially because I know he'll work hard.
(I think he'll be top 16, but won't go deep enough often enough to to crack the top 8).

The reality is Durrant is a good player, but he is not in the league of those best in the world.
I dont think he will ever be a top ten player, I said the same about Bunting and was proven right.

Re: Players Championship Tour 2019
Durrant beats Clemens 6-5. Darts were put under pressure almost every leg, and when Clemens started poorly in the final leg, Durrant took the darts with a 140, added a 137, then Clemens came back with a couple of 140s, as Durrant had two scores in the 80s. Clemens was on 50 when Durrant took out 58 with 2 darts to break in 14. Durrant 104.0, Clemens 99.2.
