Well Scotland has the 4th and 5th ranked players in the world ...

There's also Germany, Spain, and Japan with decent pairings. Asada and Muramatsu are 2 and 6 on the Asian Tour, while Ilagan and Malicdem are 3 and 5.
Germany could end up being seeded, it's tight between them and Austria. Austria is a weird one, Suljovic and Lerchbacher really didn't gel last year, Suljovic did well but Lerchbacher had a shocker and Suljovic didn't take too well to it
For fun, I watched the match again. Lerchbacher actually scored OK-ish, but even when his first dart hit t20, he couldn't get another dart in the bed until he got a 140 in the 9th leg. But even for him, his finishing was terrible, missing 3 darts at a double _3_ times.

Still say this is the world pairs championship and not a team event. In any pub league etc if there is a competition for two players then it is pairs not a team event. 3+ players for a team event for me. I do like to watch this world pairs event though

By the look of that flyer RBV is playing with MVG. Not really a surprise.

God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.

Who cares. The point is to have a competition that helps develop the game internationally. Larger teams would mean a less competitive event.

Only problem with is how they pick the teams those countries with tour card holders should definetly get a team. Switzerland is just an odd one could also possibly do with adding one more Asian team to it.
Switzerland are lucky in that they only got put in when Latvia and the Philippines were withdrawn two years ago, odd one as they don't tick any boxes, but there are worse teams out there for sure. Fine with the number of Asians for now, really, the only nations who produce anyone who shows any kind of consistency on the Asian Tour are there. Thailand obviously were removed, would be nice to get them properly on board, but at the same time, there are far more promising countries out there, even some that weren't invited

Darius Labanauskas and Mindaugas Barauskas will represent Lithuania at the World Cup of Darts.

As we confirmed one week ago, we now know who will represent Denmark, Finland and Sweden at the World Cup of Darts in June.

The PDC Nordic & Baltic region will now be represented by one more nation, as Lithuania has been included at the World Cup of Darts, as they will replace Switzerland.

They will be represented by Darius Labanauskas and Mindaugas Barauskas.

This will be the first time ever for Lithuania at the World Cup of Darts.

Spain has never had two teams in the PDC World Cup. The WDF events have a separate entry for Catalonia.

The World Series of Darts has 5 events and then the finals.

So, no, definitely not.

THE China and United States of America teams for June's BetVictor World Cup of Darts has been confirmed, while Lithuania will replace Switzerland in the 32-nation field for the event.

Following two qualifying events in China, Xiaochen Zong and Qingyu Zhan have been confirmed to represent their country in Hamburg from June 6-9.

Zong, 21, has previously competed last year in the World Cup and also at the World Championship, while 21-year-old Zhan previously competed at the 2017 PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship - losing to eventual winner Dimitri Van den Bergh.

Darin Young and Chuck Puleo will compete for the United States of America in Hamburg, after qualifying as the top two American players on the CDC Order of Merit.

Young, an Event Winner on the latest CDC Tour weekend in Ontario, will extend his ever-present record at the World Cup, while Puleo is making his debut in the event.

Puleo made his TV debut at the World Championship last December, losing to Van den Bergh in round one, and was a three-time CDC event winner in 2018.

Lithuania, meanwhile, will make their World Cup of Darts debut in June after being confirmed to replace Switzerland in the 32-nation event.

They will be represented by Darius Labanauskas and Mindaugas Barauskas in June's tournament.

Labanauskas overcame Raymond van Barneveld at the World Championship in December, then won a PDC Tour Card at the PDC Qualifying School and reached a Players Championship final last week.

Barauskas, meanwhile, was a finalist on the PDC Nordic & Baltic circuit in March and also played in the 2019 PDC Qualifying School.

The 2019 BetVictor World Cup of Darts will be held at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany from June 6-9. Tickets are available now through PDC Europe.
