Even this bit?
“He’ll get excited for it again, start enjoying his darts and decide not to retire.”

He does that about 2 weeks of every season, yes.

This bit is interesting...

"“They can’t put him in the World Cup. PDC Europe put a picture out of Max Hopp and Martin Schindler for Germany and then Van Gerwen and Barney for Holland, but the PDC made them remove it.”

Well, they can. They changed the rules a couple of years ago so the PDC can pick who they want. It's purely an invitational event.

Well yes but asking for the picture to be remove is interesting (mildly)

Smith was taking the piss.

Even though he doesn't really want to play, all he has to do is have enough money to retain his tour card and then he can have one more half-arsed attempt.

But I think he'll just retire and do some TV work. TV will keep his name out there and earn him and his ex-wife some money.

Agree that Barney will definitely retire following the 2020 WC, assuming he qualifies.

This year has shown that his game has degenerated to a huge degree, and in all fairness, don't think any genuine darts fan wants to see Raymond embarrass himself and tarnish his reputation as one of the best ever players.
