Conan Whitehead PDC earnings would put him 4th on that list and he's barely won a game and not had to leave the country either, doesn't half highlight the difference 😲

He also wont have had to pay a penny in entry fees either?

Because only 128 players get a tour card

You can get loads of experience playing in the BDO

FFS it’s not hard

I was gonna add that on but to be fair Qschool entry is around 20 BDO events entry fees

So why wouldn’t you enter q school if you backed your talent? Don’t get a card and you can even more experience by playing challenge/development tour. Plus potentially ET’s qualifiers. It’s a no brainier only those younger players that don’t think they are good enough wouldn’t enter it.

Also as others have said Whitehead who has been pretty rubbish thus far in his PDC return has still earned more money than people who have won events this year and that’s without having to even leave the UK.

Not everyone gets through Q School. We almost had the BDO World Champion not qualifying. Its a lottery (Hi Bradders)

You can play in the Challenge & Development tours, Challenge Tour isnt every week ffs.

PDC is where the money is, everyone knows this but their are alternatives out there

If the under 19 lads want to play BDO tour to gain more experience then fair play to them.

1- Never said they did

2- That makes zero sense as you can also play the BDO along with them

3- true

4- Yep thats fine but if they actually want to improve their game then they should enter q school aswell.

IMO, 4 days of Q School doesn’t improve a player

No of course it doesn't but it can be a reality check or a real eye opener as to the true level of the standard of your game or how well serious professional darts events are organised.
I think its fair to say more than a few people who had illusions of grandeur about their darting prowess ( first name Ian in at lease one case) based on having a medium of success at a few pissed up holiday camp opens shattered by 4 days of real tough high standard QS darts.

one of the main reasons I went this year was to see how far away I was from the top level. turns out it was a long way off

Did you find it worthwhile?

I know you posted that you wanted to see how far away you were from the top level, but would be interested to know firstly, if the experience improved your game, and secondly if you are considering going back next year.

yeah I did it helped massively with playing under pressure knowing that your only going to have 1 or 2 darts at double before your opponent checks out helps greatly in local leagues and local tournaments now.

the plan is to go back next year, going to try and play in the rest of the challenge tours this year and see how they go aswell, its all experience at the end of the day I just know I wasn't ready at all this year but it was a good starting point to try and improve on.

You can quite easily work it out if you look at Dartconnect UK Q school entries. It looks as if he entered day 3 only.
