Bomber wrote: Tue Apr 16, 2019 3:38 pm it comes down to geography, catalonia is a bit of spain like greater London is a bit of England

have they picked the teams yet? cross, wade and durrant would probably put in a showing for gib if asked, based on gib being english too
Bomber you may wish to pick up a geography book chap, firstly England is part of the United Kingdom which is it's legal international name, secondly Gibraltar is not a part of England or the United Kingdom for that matter.
check wiki mate, first 4 words 'england is a country' and same for spain, greater london is an area within said country as is catalonia for spain

also, gib is more english than most on here: shepherds pie, fish and chips, pie and mash, bobbies on the beat, red phone boxes, english pubs selling english beer for english notes and english coins - scots not accepted

bloody good job there were no questions on whether catalonia is a country in your module, what a waste of time that would have been

Yes it is.

As someone who has a master degree in International politics including a module on the state through the ages. I think I can tell you the difference between a nation and a sovereign country/ nation state.

They are two very different things and being sovereign as recognised by the UN means nothing when it comes deciding on sporting teams.
Catalonia is not the same as England/Wales etc.

Is this a master or masters degree?

Does reeling someone in with a troll post make you a master baiter?

How are both Spain and Catalonia involved here? I'd always assumed Catalonia was in the WDF while Spain wasn't because Spain wouldn't accept Gibraltar's membership?

Hopefully Catalonia beats Spain in the final just to add even more confusion.

hehehe how are you bored. Always the same question about whether catalunya is a member of the WDF ... the FDC meets the requirements, they asked to enter and was accepted, without further ado. It's sport, not politics ...
So let's talk about darts, which is the important thing... The MEDCUP is once again held on the seashore in a completely renovated hotel this winter ... 16 oche (1st time with more than 8 oche?), 8 men's teams and 10 women's teams.
Even being a small federation, they have a good website unlike other federations... it seems that they are doing a good job.
