Methinks Des is finding out that the damage done to the BDO by the previous administration is beyond repair. It's almost one of those situations where it may be better if this tournament doesn't go ahead given it has no sponsor, no venue and sells no tickets.
We all know that, but he has announced the qualifiers and dates. Can’t go back on it now he would look a right tit.

Guild Hall is free those dates, wouldnt be surprised if it is there again. No Welsh opera to clash with it this time, or Everly Brothers tribute, so it might get 100 people watching it instead of 50.

Be cheaper this time as well to book the Guild hall cos they wont have any need to pay the extra for the bar & security etc

You never know! Paul is hoping for info re.gsod and if bdo still to be invited.
If des is going to deliver then Sunday (not tomorrow ) could be the time to announce stuff.
of course des may have been thwarted by the bdo board (past and present )!
I think the last batch of switchers killed all interest in the BDO. The best few got cards several other top ones are now busy struggling on the challenge tour and the the rest are really irrelevant.
The GSOD was always great but this year there isnt one BDO player who can add anything at all.
The Grand Slam still needs BDO involvement for me.. The BDO involvement is a mere shadow of years gone by and the overall quality of the event would probably be raised with further PDC players taking their place.. But that's not the point.. The Grand Slam is different.. Sky still promote it as different.. The casual viewer sees it as sligtly different with the BDO aspect hyped by Sky.. I think if you lose the BDO aspect you lose the tournament.. Even now
