Last week Toon Greebe had an almost perfect weekend with two finals in Poland and the win of the Open Poland. De Bosschenaar is therefore confident that he will reach his ultimate goal and that is to be the first single-legged darter to reach the World Cup.

He now looks back on this weekend to Omroep Brabant and talks about his ultimate goal.

Greebe: “What was that fat. It is without a doubt my biggest title. Very special. Before my amputation I had never won such a big tournament. It now feels as if I have really left the rotten period behind me. "

The Bosschenaar therefore remains determined to qualify for the PDC World Championship or the BDO Lakeside.

“I still want that. I do everything for it and am constantly playing darts. But if it fails this year, we will try again next year. But it will happen, I know that for sure. "

The chances of this have increased somewhat since last weekend because he created an extra chance to qualify for the Lakeside 2020.

“Because I won the Polish Open, I can participate in the Winmau Masters in October. If I throw there, I can participate in the qualifying tournament for Lakeside again. So it is still possible, yes, "concludes the 30-year-old Bosschenaar.

Suppose it could work. 8 of them play in the first 8 weeks against the "spare" player, the 9th week you just have "Judgement Night" featuring 8 of the 9 normal players, and then weeks 10-16 you have 7 weeks to have the "Contenders" play each other down to a final on Week 16.

Or something.

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN is targeting the Betfred World Matchplay and Paddy Power Champions League of Darts as his priority title targets for the remainder of 2019.

Fresh from winning his fifth Unibet Premier League title at The O2, Van Gerwen was quick to look ahead to adding to his title haul of nine so far in 2019, with July's World Matchplay and October's Champions League of Darts at the top of the agenda.

Before that, the world number one will team up with Jermaine Wattimena for the first time as the Dutch pairing at June's BetVictor World Cup of Darts in Hamburg.

"With all respect to Raymond [van Barneveld], I think Jermaine deserves his place but if I was in Raymond's shoes I would be gutted," said Van Gerwen, who has won the tournament three times alongside Van Barneveld.

"The World Cup will be interesting because there are a lot of players in good form, but also a lot of players in poor form and with the short format we could see some surprises.

"I want to win every tournament I compete in, of course that's not easy but you have to set yourself high targets to stay sharp.

"That's why I play so many events like the ProTours to keep my form going, even if i don't win them I get a positive energy out of it which I can use for my next games.

"For the rest of 2019 I've got two big targets. I want to win the World Matchplay, because I've performed badly there the last two years, and I want to win the Champions League of Darts because it's the only TV title I've never won before.

"I know how hard it will be to win those two tournaments, along with everything else I will be playing in which I want to win too, but I am up to the challenge."

The BetVictor World Cup of Darts will be held from June 6-9 at the Barclaycard Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

Broadcast live on Sky Sports, the tournament will see 32 countries represented by two players each in the unique event which features both doubles and singles matches.

Last year's WDT won the BDO the "most legroom at an event" award with each one of the WDT ticket buyers having an average of 79 seats all to themselves.

Caris AND Bulmer in the same edition? You really have the big names cornered, just need a Chris Dopey interview for it to go stratospheric.

Hearn says that changing the rules for Barney was never really an option and that there was no ‘commercial advantage’ of doing so anyway.

God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.
