I see a lot of players say they want all pairs if they did that they could play best of 9 best of 17 17 best of 19 best of 25
2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Not managed to catch a game yet. Tuned in tonight but the Dutch games had just finished.
Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Awful format. So easy to improve it. Just doesn't make any sense how they do it, none at all. You must guarantee at least some pairs on every game.
Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Just make it straight up pairs games - best of 9 first round, best of 15 second round and quarters, best of 19 semis and final - or something like that.

Roland Scholten suggested on Dutch TV to play 701 instead of 501 as well.foggs3355 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 08, 2019 10:06 pm With a lot of 2-0 scores today I think slight format changes needed keep round 1 best of 9 pairs play the last 16 sat afternoon best of 11 legs pairs then sat evening last 8 best of 3 matches best of 7
Then on the last day Sunday afternoon best of 5 matches all games best of 9 the final best of 5 matches all games best of 13

Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
It’s a shit format after the 1st round, works only for tv schedule.
Will probably put the final on to see Scotland win something.

Imagine the format of a televised darts tournament being designed to work on TV. Who knew?TheSandman wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2019 3:15 am It’s a shit format after the 1st round, works only for tv schedule.

Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Why not starting every round after the first round with the pairs? You have a guaranteed pairs match in every contest and you kee what the world cup in essential is all about: performing as a team, not as an individual.
Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
701 pairs. Job done
Re: 2019 PDC World Cup of Darts
Absolutely and to make it more interesting I'd make the pairs worth 2 points so ther'd be pairs (2 points) followed by 2 x singles (1 point each) and a final pairs if it's all level. Much better for TV imo.
