Box office selling the tickets. Praise be
It also adds up to £34k and not £34,750..

What a shambles.

Whether it was a genuine mistake or a climbdown, either way it smacks of total incompetence.

why would he then increase it ?

He's already publicly stated

'I was voted into this position to look after the business, not to make friends, not to please individuals but to try and get this business back ‘on track’ '

So why would he be concerned by a petticoat government ?

It wasn't me who made that claim. I questioned it.

Des could actually say he is making a break with the past and going after the PDC party crowd, but that would probably give the BDO county blazers coronaries.

So say you will encourage fancy dress, standing up and chanting as the players are on the oche ready to throw etc.

However to do that they would have to move from Lakeside to a new venue for the World Championship to make it clear they want a completely different PDC style atmosphere.

Remember most at the PDC events couldn’t give a toss about the darts. It’s about dressing up looking stupid, getting pissed and hopefully seen by your mates on TV. With the Eurosport deal at least they have the TV part.

Would also allow the BDO to try and sell coverage overseas. Hearn has said many times it’s the party atmosphere of the crowd which is one of the most attractive elements for overseas TV channels and their viewers, not the quality of the darts. Plus they want players with characters like Wright. The BDO have “The Count”. Come back onto our shows :)
