I very much doubt this will be players from the UK that stay and watch unless they are staying over ans playing the Monday.

I would guess it would be more foreign players there watching than uk based players

Updated rules on the BDO website for this:

http://www.bdodarts.com/images/bdo-cont ... -rules.pdf

One thing that might be new - should be called the Polish rule I think!

Conditions of Invitation Acceptance
a. By accepting an invitation to participate in the Men’s or Women’s section of the World
Masters Championship the player agrees that should he/she be successful in winning the
Championship he/she will commit to participation as an invited player in the succeeding BDO
World Professional Championships

Think the issue is probably they changed it mid season after players would have told sponsors they were guaranteed X TV appearances a year.

Least next year they know the score well in advance.

Danny Baggish has already articulated that he is going to the Masters in preparation for Ally Pally.

He is throwing some big averages at the moment and would not be beyond the bounds of possibility for him or someone like Damon Heta who will also qualify for Ally Pally to win the event.
