World Series of Darts 2019
Re: World Series of Darts 2019
I do wonder what the deflection from this latest error in judgment will be. I'm going with a list of all the "Lake s hite" champions who failed to win a PDC major, buried after ten paragraphs about Des Jacklin.

With these results Barney will struggle to get to WSOD finals.
Re: World Series of Darts 2019
Somebody said in earlier thread here that even getting an invite so playing the first round gets you 1 OOM point so with three invites he’s almost certainly guaranteed a finals place. He also got to second round here so that’s an extra point. The Jolly Man wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 3:55 pm With these results Barney will struggle to get to WSOD finals.

Plus it's Barney so if he didn't have enough points he'd get a shoo in.
Re: World Series of Darts 2019
Do the name players get appearance money just for turning up like some golf tournaments or is it still finish in last place & your time /flight /accommodation etc is guaranteed to be covered by so-called winnings payment even though you haven’t won ?malcy93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 2:44 pm Cross bringing his Matchplay form, but shows what a joke the other PDC selections were. Most bang out of form or just turning up for a free holiday and pay check, so putting in no effort.
Should have gone with the likes of Smith, Durrant or even Bunting.
However as Hearn said he would never pick them as they don’t sell out arenas unlike lazy sods like Barney, as the drunken louts the PDC attract don’t realise that with someone like Barney his game’s shot.

Re: World Series of Darts 2019
Only top 8 get to the finals. Aspinall already on 12 points. Heta has 12 with a minimum of 14. RVB moves onto 4 so 2 victories over local players still only takes him to 10. Definitely not guaranteedmalcy93 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 10, 2019 4:04 pmSomebody said in earlier thread here that even getting an invite so playing the first round gets you 1 OOM point so with three invites he’s almost certainly guaranteed a finals place. Does any know if the players are doing any paid for exbos midweek between each of the WSOD events as that would obviously give them extra cash.

Without a doubt. I am over in Cork next week, so will be putting on my blue zipper and visiting him in his place of employment (The Sex Shop) whilst there. Will be pointing out to him that Heta won this.

Watched it last night. Thought Heta played ok to beat Gary, but certainly didn't expect him to go on and win the tournament.
Him doing so is great for the WSOD and will do his confidence in himself the world of good.

I was reminded of Kirk Shepherd's run to his world final.
Not the better player in most, if not all of his matches but took the chances he was given.
That's all you can do.
Fair play to the lad.

Re: World Series of Darts 2019
Damon Heta is plotting an assault on the PDC tour after lifting his first televised title in Brisbane on Saturday.
Despite being a huge outsider at the start of the tournament, Heta sensationally swept through a star-studded field to become the first Australian to lift a World Series title in his home country on his 32nd birthday.
The Dart Players Australia number one is now looking ahead to a potential move over to the UK to attempt to win a Tour Card at Q-School with the ultimate aim of competing on the PDC ProTour.
"Hopefully I’ll be able to come over to the UK soon and when I do people better watch out,” said Heta, who has competed in six televised PDC events since his debut in Sydney in 2014.
"I know what I can do and how good I can be and in Brisbane I showed the world.
“I had to pinch myself just to make sure it was really happening. To do that in front of an Australian crowd was just unexplainable, it was amazing.
"I just grew throughout the whole tournament. I have been worked hard for that moment and it’s paid off in the end and I am just super stoked."
Heta will return to the big stage in the second of the trio of World Series events Down Under at the Melbourne Arena for the third staging of the Melbourne Darts Masters on August 16-17.
Limited tickets for the Melbourne Darts Masters are available at ticketek.com.au
The event will be broadcast live on Fox Sports across Australia and worldwide through the PDC's international broadcast partners, as well as through PDCTV-HD for Rest of the World Subscribers (outside of the UK, Ireland & Netherlands).
UK coverage on ITV4 will be from 1900 BST.
