"Wes Newton will be involved in the BDO World Trophy instead of an Asian Qualifier once again, it has been revealed ahead of the tournament beginning in a few weeks time.

It was originally stated that it would be an Asian Qualifier; or a player on stand by who would take the place who just fell short of qualification through the main table.

At the moment, ‘The Warrior’ is currently 35th in the rankings; he will now face Jim Williams in the first round in Blackburn.

The winner will face either Dutchman, Derk Telnekes; or one of the four pre-tournament qualifiers who he will be drawn against."
