Aye the Classic prize fund is a joke, i note its the same for the women in that event so i assume the mens has been cut to allow it to happen.

Note the words "so I assume".

Maybe one of the sober forum members can confirm how long these funds have been equal and if the mens fund was cut to achieve this.

The Gents Classic is only in its second year, and has equalled the Ladies Classic in both years. I presume it was introduced to give another ranking event in the Regional table for Baltic & Scandinavia (and thereby boost the chances of a Swede making it to the Worlds).

The total prize money for the singles events for the weekend has gone from SEK 126400 in 2016 to SEK 142200 in 2019. So, double the number of ranking events and 12% increase in prize money.
