A few things spring to mind. He’s saying all this mere weeks after basically saying he would have cancelled it if he could.
Obviously the event success hinges on them flogging tickets, desperate to sell some now they can see not many have been sold. By making the counties pay for tickets, if they all bought 20 day ones they would effectively have bankrolled most of the event on the BDO behalf.

Really, Lancashire Darts should do more for this as its in their patch, People need to realise that Highlands & Cornwall players aren't going to travel.

The Men's and Ladies schedule for the BDO World Trophy has been finalised, with the addition of Wez Newton, who will play number two seed Jim Williams due to their being no Asian Qualifier.
