A great weekend of darts.
All the idiots on here bemoaning averages in the 80’s have clearly never played the game.
Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Also Lee knows damn well that (Oche aside) we've all played the game. Sat night had some great games, the winners did not kick on.ILAD wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 10:03 pmSince when do ‘the idiots’ on here pretend to be ‘professional ‘ darts players?Lee Taylor wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:58 pm A great weekend of darts.

Watched most of it but its lost something now that Durrant and to some extent the other mains switchers have left. It just seems so low key.

I would play it best of 11 11 13 17 19
It definitely something to build of on half decent crowd if they get tickets on sale by May next year expect better turnout
No the format was too long if anything, don’t put us through having to watch more please!

I hate it when I am forced to watch something. Not good.DavidB wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 10:48 pmfoggs3355 wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 7:23 pm I think next year the format needs looking at it far to short I think there is time day 1 all men’s best of 11

Think overall from a viewing perspective it wasn't a bad tournament and from what I saw, I have to say, I enjoyed it
That being said, from a commercial viewpoint, the BDO must have lost fortunes on this event, and whilst they can accommodate the loss on this one tournament, they have to make sure both the Masters and WC return profit or their cash reserves will be rapidly diminished.

Playing the BDO card hard. Got to get the GSOD spot.maninasuitcase wrote: ↑Sun Sep 01, 2019 9:57 am Jim Williams and Suzuki for my two tips.
Lovely to see Glen there on Friday. I really like him. No BS, a very humble man IMO.
I thought there was a good crowd in last night. Shows there is some life in the BDO. I don't anybody wants to see them fold.

From what I saw:
Good venue, better crowd.
Ladies matches generated the best atmosphere on the telly
Ladies standard was, with a couple of notable exceptions, very good
TV presentation was ok, although both John Rawling and Chris Mason appeared to wilt a bit
Mens peaked yesterday, showing the ability but not consistency that is the BDO at the moment
This is the weakest home nations line-up in the mens BDO since 1994
The qualifiers performed very well, in my opinion showing the value of the Regional tables.
I'll post the averages on here later
