God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.
I used to love cycling but unfortunately I know a man who doesn’t like cyclists.

Posts like that are so old fashioned, amateurish and embarrassing. But the best bit is that those making that post think it is cutting edge, professional and 'cool'!

Reading on fb about a lady making her county debut at 72 yrs of age. (Then someone said a guy made his debut at 75). Fair play to her. She seemed a nice lady who was chuffed with that.
But it did make me think: is it getting easier to be picked for county? ie fewer folks trying to get picked than in previous years?

You just need to look at the Scottish counties, a few of them you basically register and turn up and you have a good chance of playing just cause of the lack of numbers. That’s even with low costs since it’s played over 1 day.devosteve wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 10:36 am Reading on fb about a lady making her county debut at 72 yrs of age. County darts works on the “if your face fits and you are mates with the selectors” selection criteria.

And it always has been that wayBlueSpark wrote:County darts works on the “if your face fits and you are mates with the selectors” selection criteria.
I gave up trying to go down that route when I played every week because I had to sit and listen to a county player tell another player in the pub that the only way he could go play county was if he joined his team and started playing with him week in week out.
Looking at the squads now, bar the likes of Yorkshire it’s a case of if your about that weekend you can play
