I thought Jacklin and Gulliver were also missing? Both are near the top of the rankings.

People criticise Devon Petersen for his African qualifier win, but he had over 20 more than this event.
You would have thought they get close to 64 players in that will it happens next year with turnout as low but if falcon or Lisa get thru sky be happy

I said top players, not top-ranked. Jacklin works the BDO's crap ranking system. Gulliver is the best female player of all time, but nowhere near that level now. On top of her declining play, she seems currently to have significant health problems. Not that she would have played anyway, being in the Jacklin club, but she's not missed.

PDC have adopted the Castor Semenya rule, forcing O’Brien to enter the men’s qualifiers from now on.

Thats a bit harsh, I was only going to say something like she is busy filming the new live action Wreck-It-Ralph film.

Unfortunately will miss the first night as will be travelling back from St. Lucia, following a weeks holiday at the Sandals resort.

Freebie, as have won this as a prize from my business for sales performance over the last year.

Not bad from the creepy Sofa Salesman. ;-)
So you managed to flog the most dodgy stain insurance ?

Would probably be better at hitting doubles under pressure.

I don't think the PDC are that bothered on numbers as long as the realistic ones who can qualify are there and they get a half decent winner.. That's happened so far so the PDC will be fine... They've been seen to do their bit by putting on the qualifier.. Its cost them nothing and they get the publicity of a lady player in it in the build up to. Ally Pally

PDPA Tour Card qualifier finals:
Owen v van de Pas
Brooks v Burness
Hunt v Edgar

At minimum, to keep their cards:
- Edgar needs to win
- Owen needs to win and then win 1 game at the World Championships
- Hunt needs to win and then win 2 games at the World Championships
- Burness needs to win and then win 3 games at the World Championship
- Brooks needs to win and then win 3 games at the World Championship

Norris will lose his card if any of the above happens.

Edgar beat Hunt 7-4.
Burness beat Brooks 7-3
Van de Pas beat Owen 7-4.

Edgar probably keeps his card.
Norris loses his tour card.
Stevenson breathes easier.

5-3, then 5-4 after failing to go out in 6 from 96.
But then held in 18 to win 6-4.

Sherrock beat Winstanley 6-3.
Cassidy beat Turner 6-2. (Denise Cassidy is a Northern Irish player who doesn't travel much but is one of the better ladies, so it's not really an upset. She'll play Hutchinson, against whom she lost in the semi-final and final of the tournaments in Newry a couple of months ago).
