1. Is Des the right person to run the BDO?
Des doesn't even run or control the Jackchin family empire so if his beloved doesn't trust him with the purse strings this really has already been answered.

2. Should they stop trying to compete with PDC, reduce prize funds etc to suit revenue?
They ceased to be in competition with the PDC around about 10 years ago. Without major headline sponsors then its an obvious simple no brainer of a business decision for any prizes to be of an affordable sustainable level. This is perhaps one of the very few things the EDO have managed to grasp and do correctly. Unfortunate I don't see Des actually doing this as he is , and always has been, guilty of breaking a golden business rule of letting your ego make business decisions.

3. Would you think it would be better to adjust the calendar so World Champs are played March/April time?
They need to seriously look at the PDC calendar and decide when is the best 'dead' spot to hold it and when other major big sporting events are not on. The beauty of the first week of the new year WAS that when the BBC decided to move it to this time it more or less had a monopoly of being the only live sport on TV at the time. The PDC move to over Xmas for their worlds was decided by SKY who realised it was a prime captive viewing week with very little other live sport to fill their schedule the end result we have now is the Xmas tradition that is the PDC darts with a very shabby over looked BDO worlds played at a time with depressed viewers. Now the BDO are no longer tied to the BBC terms of holding it the first thing they should of done was move it this didn't happen and now the multi year Eurosport deal may tie them to this week for the foreseeable future if they can continue financially after this year. So it may well be a case they are stuck now at this time.
