Another seed bites the dust. Both Labanauskas and White played well.
Any outside chance that White had for PL selection now gone.

First ton plus average of this year's WC and it isn't enough to get White a win.

He never had even a slim chance let alone an outside chance lets be realistic here.
Still waiting for him to bring his best game to tv and win an event as we’ve been told...
More chance of Jamie Lewis winning a major

Another year like last year with seeds falling all around each other.
Just me who thinks the L96 is helping these Pro Tour winners who are clearly very dangerous (heck having Huybrechts first match for Cross) and having accustomed to the stage.

Course it is and simply 96 players is far too many for an event of this nature and stature!

I actually like having all of these international qualifiers - there are no gimmes anymore. Look at the Chinese and Indian qualifier today for instance. They all can play. The days of Nakagawa v French are over.
Re: PDC World Championship- 13th December 2019- 1st January 2020 Alexandra Palace- London
The game is expanding far too wide globally, and the breadth of quality is way to excellent to involve less than 96 players in it. Nonsense that the size of the playing field should be reduced. Throughout the season we've seen that the gap in quality between top, subtop and regular players is very small nowadays.

Regardless of the quality, it is on too long, therefore if you are going to have one stage, I think you reduce the numbers.Duneh9617 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 5:16 pm The game is expanding far too wide globally, and the breadth of quality is way to excellent to involve less than 96 players in it. Re: PDC World Championship- 13th December 2019- 1st January 2020 Alexandra Palace- London
You are correct, there is no doubt that playing in the First Round is helping in getting the Pro Tour qualifiers accustomed to the stage, but no guarantee that they will get through those first matches.
There is also the factor that the high quality of player is going much deeper into the OOM, with the Euro Tour helping those lower down the OOM to gain experience of a big crowd stage environment.

I agree. The game is developing globally and the World Championship should reflect that global nature.Dannyboy wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 5:15 pmI actually like having all of these international qualifiers - there are no gimmes anymore. The Asian players, the North American players and Kumar have all held their own, and the investment in the Regional Tours are paying dividends.
At the current standards, 96 players seem about right, but any more would dilute the quality too much, and cant see a 128 field being introduced in the medium term.

Who doesn't enjoy darts every day, for almost 3 weeks? If you think it takes too long, just start watching from the quarter finals.Addicks Fan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 5:24 pmRegardless of the quality, it is on too long, therefore if you are going to have one stage, I think you reduce the numbers.Duneh9617 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 5:16 pm The game is expanding far too wide globally, and the breadth of quality is way to excellent to involve less than 96 players in it.
