Morning all, ssjsa, true Gary played really well yesterday but I'd stay feet planted on the ground.

At the moment he's still 3rd on the starting grid behind van Gerwen and Price I reckon.

Long way to go for Gary, and did not play brilliant, but played well. However had that glint in his eye during the interview I posted, and having seen that before, means he knows that his game is getting there and is confident he will produce it.

Expecting him to play much better next round and give us that have backed him at 25/1, a run for our monies.

No it wasn"t Chris, but it is getting there. Would not be surprised to see that superlative being used multiple times during this World Championship. ;-)

The American dream is very much alive at the William Hill World Darts Championship after United States duo Darin Young and Danny Baggish both impressed in the opening round at Alexandra Palace.

Young stole the headlines in his first round triumph against Raymond van Barneveld, defeating the Dutch legend in his final game before retiring as a professional, while Baggish out-battled Andy Boulton to reach round two.

Jeffrey de Zwaan lies in wait for Young on Tuesday - with the action shown live on DAZN - and is hoping to build on his stunning success over five-time World Champion Van Barneveld.

"I'm feeling really excited about this tournament," said 46-year-old Young, who topped the CDC Order of Merit in 2019.

"It was a strange feeling beating Raymond because I was really happy with myself but felt slightly sorry for him - but it was as big a good moment for me as it was a bad one for him.

"I've put a lot of preparation in to this event and have practised a lot because I don't know how many more events I will have.

"I hadn't come here to just make up the numbers and I feel like there might be even bigger moments to come."

North American Darts Champion Baggish is gearing up for his clash Nathan Aspinall, who also tasted success in Las Vegas in the summer - winning the US Darts Masters, which will take place in New York for the first time in 2020.

"It's a dream to even be here," said Baggish, following Sunday's 3-2 victory over Boulton.

"I watch this tournament every year and being here is just incredible, the atmosphere is amazing.

"I want to play darts for a living and this is the start of me realising that dream. My aim is to make a good impact here and go to Qualifying School to get my Tour Card if needed.

"I can shock the world by beating Nathan and that is my target. Whatever happens I'm loving every minute."

The World Series of Darts visits New York on June 5-6 2020 when the US Darts Masters takes place in The Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden .

9 180s in less than 2 sets between these two, utter dross inbetween. Hankeyesque.

Quite. The fact we had the highest finish of the 1st Round coupled with the lowest average kind of sums up that match.

You're going to get to see rather a lot of Ilagan this afternoon if these two keep this dross up.

Brilliant. Following Reyes going tops, tops on 80 with 3 darts in hand, Ilagan goes for three tops on 120, ala de Sousa.

she says she still not 100% certain that the o2 will go ahead.

great point about how playing the men on the challenge tour has improved her game ("with the men I have to hit the double" - whereas she has more chances against the lady)

And ally pally better than lakeside.

The first set excepted, that was a decent match. Thought Ilagan was going to win that, but credit to Cristo for coming back from 2 sets down.

Know Steve isn't online at the moment, but wonder what Masticman thought of his favourite player Rowby's walk on.

Malicdem letting Rowby back into this game. Got Noel at 10/11 to win this match in only my 2nd match bet of the tournament thus far. Danny Baggish at 6/5 my first one.

Not much value on the match betting thus far.

Have also taken Harry Ward to beat Razma at evens, and given Rapid Ricky's foot injury my 4th bet is McGeeney to beat him at 6/5. In fairness thought Mark would win this match anyway, so not solely based on a potential injury.
