The Sportotal contract was signed 3 years ago.bishbashbosh180 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 5:25 pm Ignores the reality that the Chairman has been a Director for 2.5 years! Obviously covering their butts based on the letters the counties were going to send that was on another thread a couple of weeks ago. I like the bit where they say the TV loses money then say they have potential to sign up for 5 more money losing TV events.

A retainer, plus (based on previous comments) exclusivity, with additional commission on deals, and they're going to cancel only if they get paid off.
How Des Jacklin thought he could blag his way out of the mess, I don't know.

This is all the fault of Ginge and JC.
Des Jacklin: ‘People say the BDO can’t compete with the PDC, but that is the biggest load of crap in the world’
God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.
I used to love cycling but unfortunately I know a man who doesn’t like cyclists.

And the woman’s cut to 10k not the 20k that was promised

So only 2.5 years to sort a 3 year old agreement. My point was not that they previous chairman did not sign this agreement but that you cannot keep saying that everything is someone elses fault when you have been a director for 2.5 years.1205 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:17 pmThe Sportotal contract was signed 3 years ago.bishbashbosh180 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 5:25 pm Ignores the reality that the Chairman has been a Director for 2.5 years! Des Selecta is officially the worst chairman in the history of the BDO, fully endorsed by England Darts, I hope Tommy Thompson and his lapdog are happy with themselves.

Most people will blame Des Jacklin for this, and of course they can do it. But maybe the people who vote for Des at the chairman election also should take their responsibility...

Re: Trouble at the o2
Certainly no one on this forum should be. We have articulated it ad infinitum, how can such a flawed business model, being administered by such an inept Chairman and Board deliver what they promised.

It's mostly their fault, 3rd place behind social media and the teletubbies.Tommy T-Rex wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:34 pm Des Selecta is officially the worst chairman in the history of the BDO, fully endorsed by England Darts, I hope Tommy Thompson and his lapdog are happy with themselves.

Re: Trouble at the o2
Well they did for the Masters, and have been shafted again.
Hopefully Des will honour his promise to resign, but it will be too little, too late.
For me we have the tale of two Ts.
Transparency- What Des promised and has done the exact opposite.
Toxicity- Sums us Jacklin and the damage he has done to a BDO which already had a terrible reputation.

Sort it out how? Companies on the good end of bad contracts aren't going to want to negotiate. And, based on comments, it's an exclusive deal, so they were not just paying money out, they were trapped.bishbashbosh180 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:26 pmSo only 2.5 years to sort a 3 year old agreement. Jacklin's bluster has just compounded a fundamental problem, with the BDO starting at -60k per year, plus having to pay out commission on any crappy deal that Sportotal negotiated.

Yes they should, and if they don't call an EGM and sack him they should all be lined up against a wall and shot! If the BDO is to survive in any form after the world championships Jacklin has to be kicked out immediately.PVDarts501 wrote: ↑Mon Dec 30, 2019 6:34 pm Most people will blame Des Jacklin for this, and of course they can do it.
