I kinda get that, but the thing is, Wayne had signed up for Q-school before the tournament started. If he'd lost in the early rounds, he'd be worse off financially than he is now. So I don't think the BDO prize money is the reason he's decided against it.

He's been hard done by. That contretemps with Tommy Cox was a misunderstanding. He was warning Tommy that he should look after himself and get a thorough check up or he might get cancer and die. If Tommy had listened, DBG might just have saved his life.
On his deathbed TC apparently said "Lift the ban on DBG, Barry. Do this one favour for a dying man".
