Dutch Open today
Non-PDC darts is marketable as it's an alternative to watching MVG vs Wright every other week.
It is more akin to wanting to see less Man U, City and Liverpool which is the main complaint of MOTD for years, there is a market for people bored with the PL, PDC, and all it's clones.
What do you think Lakeside was, you stupid twat?
Of course there's a market.just idiots like you gave the major events to Des Jacklin.
Moron troll.
When someone resorts to cheap insults they have already lost.
Televised non PDC darts is always more enjoyable than the overkill of watching countless boring PDC darts. I think that's where most on here are getting it wrong, they base their enjoyment on the drunkenness and size of a crowd rather than the character and skill of the participants...... very shallow.

The crowd in Assen were pretty drunk so full marks there.

Tournament with thousands of entrants staying over the weekend convinces people who were staying for a weekend to stay and watch the sport they was there to take part in
More at 11
Well its doesnt seem to apply to other tournaments with loads of players involved
How many other tournaments have over 5,000 (?) people enter and play in it?

At first glance, I read this as Moomintroll.
I think I need my eyes tested!
Absolutely there's a market for "non-PDC" darts. Whether there's a market for "televised non-PDC" darts is another thing entirely.
Of course there is.
This event was shown on Dutch TV and Eurosport were happy to broadcast the BDO World Championship.
It was only a few years ago that the BDO World Final attracted 2 million viewers. Figures the PDC could only dream of.
Christ on a bike!
Are you really comparing the BDO's viewing numbers WHEN IT WAS BROADCAST ON TERRESTRIAL TV to the PDC's WHEN IT WAS BROADCAST ON SKY?
That's desperate stuff even for you!
A more fairer comparison would be what the TV audiences were this year, now that both aren't on terrestrial TV. I won't hold my breath waiting for an answer.

How about if we compare the PDCs Champions league figures on bbc compared to lakeside when it was on the beeb?
