Televising the BICC ffs

Post by BlueSpark »

:DDD:

Dear players and members, It has been well documented that the last few months have been difficult for the BDO and we would like to assure players, members and supporters that the BDO tour is set to continue. Barring the Dutch Open, all organisations who had applied for ranking points still have them in place and players ranked high enough have the opportunity to play in all BDO majors as per the BDO diary, including the BDO World Trophy and 2021 BDO World Professional Darts Championships.

2020 also sees the welcome return of the BDO International Open, which will be held on the 4th and 5th July at the Magna Centre in Rotherham, along with the BDO Youth Festival of Darts.

Our focus is ensuring the longevity of the organisation and despite several setbacks and some tough decision making, we are committed to making the BDO a success. Sponsorship of our product has been an issue over the last few years, however we are in talks with several interested parties and are confident that 2020 will bring with it new sponsorship partners, allowing the organisation to grow and ultimately be in a position to reward players who commit to the tour.

On the 11th February we have several meetings organised in London with the BDO new Social Media company, the O2, Eurosport and 2 other companies connected with furthering the BDO, we will also be discussing a great new idea that will hopefully showcase the BICC live on TV and will be looking to release ticketing information for the 2020 BDO World Trophy, The 2020 One80 L-style World Masters and the 2021 BDO World Professional Darts Championship. Secondly, following the resignation of Martyn Moore, we will be co-opting a new director onto the BDO board. Once everything is in place, we will make more information public. We would like to thank Martyn for his work and wish him all the best in the future.

We would also like to take this opportunity to introduce Chambers Media, who will be working alongside the BDO, focusing on improving our PR and further developing our social media channels, creating exciting and engaging new content for players, fans and supporters alike. There are several areas already identified that the BDO have underutilised over the years, which we intend to develop to open up new revenue opportunities. One such initiative is the recently launched app, which can be downloaded here http://bdodarts.com/index.php/item/3-ma ... he-bdo-app The International Tour is already 4 months into the season with all players playing for a place in all in the WDT and World Professionals, while many will be unconvinced, we are confident that the BDO can go from strength to strength with the continued support of its members, the players and its supporters.

Kind regards

The BDO Board of Directors

Working wonders already with the constant plugs for the Torremolinos Open. Sterling work, Ben.

Although in seriousness, surely he has to take all control of the FB page away from... you know who.

Do they actually believe county darts is marketable and popular enough to be televised?

He is a member on here. Posted a few emails between him and Warren Brown, were a hilarious read.

On another note, I do hope he is asking for money up front.

Oh and they have until Monday to pay the players.

Should get a sponsorship deal with carlsberg

Cause people are gonna need a lot of alcohol to sit through those Scottish women’s B games.

The bdo tour is set to continue "

It sounds like they think they actually run the tour.

The bdo points are free so an event will keep with them for the time being.

And never mind the bicc headline: the wdt is to continue? Surely they should be saying they will just focus on the 2 majors and the wdt is to be stopped.
