Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
This is not over yet, there will certainly be further twists and turns.....he hasn’t resigned from the BDO, he is still the CEO, and still has the combination to the safe!

Do the people running this have any sort of business/commercial background?

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
So is that it then? Or are we still waiting for some sort of announcement from Des along the lines of “Despite me putting in 36 hour days......”
Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
If there isn't a multi page letter coming it would be a surprise. It will no doubt mention loyalty, tireless efforts, working while on holiday, working whilst injured, social media, attacks on family, bad contracts, not my fault etc etc.
As an aside, the BDO is still there and so is a clear opportunity.
Change the initials to Boozey Darting Olidays and fully embrace what the company have been focused on the past couple of years. They wouldn't even need to change their approach to social media.

Where would we all be without this kind of original, cutting edge insight into the BDO's demise?Zapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Tue Sep 08, 2020 8:32 am
I’m sure Taylor and Priestley are sat at home right now thinking “this is our fault”

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
I don't think the counties want a major reorganisation, they just want things to continue as they were, but with different management.
Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
But under this new team will they have a choice or a say?greatkingrat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 09, 2020 2:42 am I don't think the counties want a major reorganisation, they just want things to continue as they were, but with different management.
Hot Potatoes: the very best of Devo.
Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Does it matter? They have no choice now
Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
UKDA convinced all the counties to defect on the promise of setting up five national divisions with promotion and relegation between them.
For UKDA to adopt a different structure so soon would be very bad PR for them IF they do have the power to do so.

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Counties were asked originally by ukda and they all pretty much said no.phil davies wrote:Now it’s times for the UKDA to do the sensible thing and make it regional. If it is the 53 teams then make it 7 regional leagues 4 of 8 teams and the other 3 of 7. Then you can have a national finals night for the champions if they so wish.
I don’t think it needs regionalising it’s just needs the format sorting. There’s no need for it to be 2 days

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Zapp...How exactly in your extensive knowledge of County darts did you work that out??
Based on quality??
Most counties rely on sponsorship from their home venue in order for them to complete a season...1/2 the days will 1/2 the sponsorship...Apart from Superleague registrations, and profit (if any from comps) and a little from programme sales most counties have very little income. They don't earn a huge amount out of advertising or have external sponsors willing to throw money at it..
So if we half the time in which its played, how would you fill the financial void left from playing one day less??

Re: United Kingdom Darts Association
Surely by taking out the overnight stay that's saving enough money than most teams need to raise.
If you can't sell or gain enough sponsorship for your "A" team players ,playing on one day, then is it worth playing county at all?
