Quite how BDO Part beats BDO Waites is beyond me.
Waites' GSOD triumph really hurt some of your feelings eh?

@Bluespark are you able to manipulate these polls?Moongoose McQueeen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 3:20 pm Quite how BDO Part beats BDO Waites is beyond me.

Been years since I had access so I can't remember now.
Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
Why would I manipulate a poll? There’s no way of achieving that anyway after having a quick look. I can edit the selections, the timeframe and delete them. I think that’s about it.The Cat wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 3:25 pm@Bluespark are you able to manipulate these polls?Moongoose McQueeen wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 3:20 pm Quite how BDO Part beats BDO Waites is beyond me.

Which is not what the poll is aboutphil davies wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:32 pmWhy should I? I’m basing it off all the players prime when that prime is I couldn’t care less. It’s up to others what they base their vote on.oche balboa wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 8:04 amAre you basing that on 1994 part vs 2013 Waites
Because you aren’t are you
Very very few players would be above Part IMO as I would have in the top 10 players of all time.

By Phil's logic, Serge Gnabry is one of West Brom's greatest ever players.

Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
Not that I wish to labour the point, but that is all fine and dandy but it is clearly not the purpose of this topic as specified by the OP. If that was the metric, we might as well just declare Taylor the winner now and pack it all in.phil davies wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:49 pmDarts is darts it doesn’t matter what org. People who obsess over players BDO/PDC careers are odd. I couldn’t care less if somebody was playing their best darts in the pre split days, post split BDO or the post split PDC. I will judge them by how well they played and what they achieved in the game.
Everyone knows that Part is a greater player than Waites overall. That isn't what the OP asked.
Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
Phil is gonna be upset when he finds out that Gary Anderson (2 times PDC world champ), MVG (3 times PDC world champ), Wright (Current PDC world champ) and Lewis (2 times PDC world champ) all failed to make it into this event.

Then start your own thread, on those terms, and invite discussion on that. Don't really see the point in applying your own criteria because you disagree with the premise of the thread. Comes across as needlessly confrontational and agenda-driven.phil davies wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:59 pmIndeed I agree let’s just agree that Taylor is the GOAT. It doesn’t matter who else is in it really. If your going to include players post split BDO in this then it’s only fair that the players who were at their prime in the post split PDC are also judged by their best.meetthefeebles wrote: ↑Wed Oct 28, 2020 4:53 pmNot that I wish to labour the point, but that is all fine and dandy but it is clearly not the purpose of this topic as specified by the OP. If not then change it from ultimate worlds champs. To who played the best darts at Stoke/Nottingham/Lakeside and if that’s what we are judging then just give it to Eric now as nobody comes close to what he achieved.

Phil, stop moaning ffs. Its nice to reminisce about a now defunct tournament, if you dont like it then dont contribute.

Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
John Part's run to victory:
(85.23) John Part 3 V 0 Ronnie Baxter (81.66)
(83.22) John Part 3 V 0 Paul Lim (79.11)
(90.99) John Part 4 V 0 Steve McCollum (86.13)
(88.98) John Part 5 V 1 Ronnie Sharp (87.51)
(82.44) John Part 6 V 0 Bobby George (80.31)
Waites 2013:
(90.15) Scott Waites 3 V 0 Willy van de Wiel (80.88)
(89.34) Scott Waites 4 V 1 Geert de Vos (81.54)
(92.16) Scott Waites 5 V 2 Paul Jennings (85.17)
(90.48) Scott Waites 6 V 1 Richie George (83.49)
(86.43) Scott Waites 7 V 1 Tony O Shea (81.90)
Waites 2016:
(96.06) Scott Waites 3 V 0 Willem Mandigers (87.24)
(90.75) Scott Waites 4 V 3 Geert de Vos (81.75)
(95.58) Scott Waites 5 V 4 Glen Durrant (94.74)
(92.10) Scott Waites 6 V 1 Jamie Hughes (82.35)
(87.54) Scott Waites 7 V 1 Jeff Smith (84.99)
Neither player was tested that often, neither player needed to play that well overall, but Waites was far better and more consistent than Part. From memory Waites played with far more freedom in 2016 than in 2013 when everybody was waiting for him to win the title, far too good for Part from 1994 in my opinion.

Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
so no overseas players based in England have ever been good enough to play in Bicc?
Re: Ultimate World Professional Championships Round 1. Waites vs Part
Waites' higher averages in 2013 than Part's in 1994 reflects nothing but the huge trebles on the Winmau boards by that time.
