That said, failure to hand over phone records etc is the equivalent of going down the "no comment" route when being interviewed under caution. It's to all intents and purposes a tacit admission of guilt (after all, if you could help any investigation prove your innocence why wouldn't you?) but without any trace of remorse for your actions.
As such if and when you are found guilty you can expect your punishment to reflect that not only did you do what you were accused of, but you were a right pain in the arse during the investigation as well.
Welcome back mate
Cheers Sparky.
Decided to take a few months off as the bedroom darts held no interest for me and the BDO's continued slow motion suicide became such a parody of itself I just wanted it all to stop.
But now real darts is back, and Des is just going to carry on doing Des stuff until he finally runs out of money, so I thought I might as well come back.

It’s not the same. In a criminal investigation you must hand over your phone to the police if requested. If you claim it’s lost or stolen that’s an offence and you can be sentenced for that on top of the trial for the original offence.

In all sports when you sign up to them their disciplinary procedures now say if you don’t hand over your phone that’s an admission of guilt and hence the investigation can be stopped as you are found guilty by default. They changed the rules and what you sign up to after some of the early match fixing cases in cricket where players refused to hand over their phones or claimed they were lost. At that time handing them over was not required in the disciplinary rules. That got changed sharpish.

On EdgarTV think it was during the summer series Matt stated that he wasn’t allowed to bet on or give out tips on darts games. If asked for he had to hand over phone, iPad, any electronic device you use and give access to emails. This was before anything about the modus match fixing

That’s what you sign up to with the DRA contract, but obviously Dave whitcomb is right, don’t hand over your phone. He knows better.

So you condone cheating? Na, you just hate anything to do with the PDC, DRA is part of that.
No wonder you get shite all the time.

That’s about right for complying with the investigation and admitting guilt.

What does McKinstry get for denying it? 5 years?

Exactly. Remember that chubby snooker player who cheated got a similar length of ban and snooker & darts have same people running them.

Think though he ended up getting it reduced a few years by running training sessions for young players saying you should cheat and how to spot dodgy bookmakers who approach you to fix or supply inside info on matches.

The tubby snooker player got 12 years and because he kept appealing and denying it costs were awarded against him and they ended up at 100k. When his 12 years are up if he wants to play again he'll have to pay up the 100k before he can apply to play again.

And he was in the top 6 and earning 150k a year when he was caught - he lost his house, cars, etc and ended up on the dole in a council house with his wife and 5 kids. Then he got done for fraud and nicked in HK for coaching without a visa. He is penniless and unable to work, even if he could it wouldn't match his dole.

Darts is run by the same mob and they both say don't do it but if you do and deny it you will likely never play again.

Yet the same mob appear to turn a blind eye to certain players taking drugs.

Given they aren’t an Olympic sport and don’t get any public funding it’s not compulsory for them to drug test. They do some as players have been caught in the past just not as many as the likes of athletics or football.

That doesn’t answer the point of turning a blind eye does it.
