Premier League 2021
Re: Premier League 2021
Cross can’t be excluded unless Anderson wins tonight.
Cross is #4 and under the rules for 2020 and earlier the top 4 are guaranteed places.
Of course nothing stopping Hearn ripping up the rules for the 2021 event.
Problem with Cross is 81% of his OOM money is from 2019, winning Matchplay and Euros whilst U.K. Open runner-up.
His form in 2020 was horrific but still remains #4.
Post 2021 Matchplay will start rapidly dropping down the OOM.

No chance Bunting gets in. Think ssjsa is right unless they put Wade in for Cross.
Re: Premier League 2021
Considering what normally happens every year, I’ll watch the first couple then lose interest gradually until finals night. So I couldn’t care less who’s in and who isn’t on this exhibition tour.

Happy birthday, Bluespark old chum.
In terms of form, here's the prize money won in just the last calendar year rather than the 2 year PDC ranking. Cross in 25th. MVG only won £400K in 2nd place - finished.

They could have another gimmick instead. But I think with de Sousa, Van den Bergh and van Duijvenbode having emerged they have plenty of new faces, including a new Dutchman, so don't need any gimmicks.
And with no Challengers, if van Barneveld actually makes a comeback, he'll have to be satisfied with World Series invites.
I think that if Anderson wins, Cross will be out.
I also think Gurney could be out. He was 8th last year, played poorly, has had a relatively poor year, and is forgettable.
Price
Van Gerwen
Wright
Anderson
Durrant (PL Champion, so in even though he's fallen off a cliff)
Van den Bergh
De Sousa
Cross/Van Duijvenbode (Porter will be hoping he doesn't have to include Cross)
Aspinall
Smith (I know he'll never win anything, but he's a fast, high-scoring tragedy)

Re: Premier League 2021
Chisnall will be in. Only potential change to my picks could be if Gary wins tonight, removing Cross from that automatic Top 4 spot. If that happens, would love to see Dirk given a spot, but still think Rob would get that 10th spot in front of Bullyboy and Wade, as he will still be ranked 5th in the OOM.

Re: Premier League 2021
Not sure what events the PDC are expecting to pick from? The Masters... is that definitely happening in a few weeks?
Or a certain Dutchman getting his tour card back?

Re: Premier League 2021
Yes it does leave the door open for Barney assuming he can win a tour card. Otherwise not eligible.
Re: Premier League 2021
Gives them the opportunity to shoehorn Barney in if he has a decent run in one of the early events. Don't blame them it is only an exhibition afterall and if they are allowed spectators in then it is better to have a draw like Barney than some bland midcarder.meetthefeebles wrote: ↑Sun Jan 03, 2021 10:04 pm 'We have no idea which of the rest of you chumps to pick as fodder so we'll wait for a bit and hope one of you win something'.
Re: Premier League 2021
They obviously decided Chisnall and Smith have had their chances although unless a non qualified player wins The Masters they will have to pick one of those two unless Barney gets his card back and they go with him.
Cross incredibly lucky to keep his spot thanks to Anderson blowing it in the final tonight.
