Years gone by I would have followed this intently. Can’t even be bothered to look back at results. Any young up and coming players got through?

Yes, but I can’t be bothered to tell you.

God rest Alf Garnett and Prince Phil.

Yes North Americans like Australians could pick either venue.
Unless he’s living in U.K. at present so couldn’t get to Germany a rather stupid decision coming here rather than Germany as the a European qualifying route is much easier.

So potentially players that have to play tomorrow and qualify for the final round play 7 days in a row? Can see a lot of them letting go after 2 days or so when they seem without a chance of getting a tour card. Big advantage for those who start in the second round

Rather play darts for 7 days in a row than 3 days, isolate for 3 days, then back on it

Also, maybe more importantly, it's not the normal Q School. UK is only 150-odd players in stage 1, EU was under 128, and stage 2 is 128 with the jokers filtered out. So the days are much shorter, and less crowded.

Not sure about that - some of the players with byes to the final won't have played a competitive match in months. I can see a lot of the bigger names losing early, particularly on the first day to qualifiers who are already in form.

I found this from the minutes of the BDO delegates meeting from November 2017.

The 'disciplinary officer' at the time, a certain Des Jacklin, had this to sayImageImage

I don’t know him directly but I know plenty of people who do.
No one I know has anything nice to say about him.
Perhaps he’s a reformed character these days...
