If she wins the GSOD she’s in. She will get a TC by right if she’s in the SF. But a lot of players have had to toil to get their PL place… shouldn’t just be handed to her on a plate.

Dont Sky Sports get at least 1 wildcard pick? If they change the rules to say that the womens series winner gets an automatic card (assuming she doesn't reach top 64 after the worlds) then she could be in the premier league easily. The PDC are a business as well at the end of the day. People are tuning in/paying tickets to watch Fallon (bit hard to ignore the hype to be fair), and would be a new face to mix it up, rather than the 10th pick being another "same old face" like Chisnall/Smith/Aspinall again

I have said this before, but there are two options when it comes to the premier league places.

1. Invite players 1-10 in the rankings

2. Otherwise, it is unfair to at least one player.

There really is no other way about it. If you don't take option 1, a player or players are getting "cheated" or treated unfairly. So whether you have 1-9 in the rankings and number 11 or number 211 or any other combo, it doesn't matter.

So therefore I never understand why people are like "you can't just give a place to x".

Why do you think it's just the top 4 guaranteed? Players like Anderson, Barneveld etc have been outside the top 10 when picked, with players like Pipe and Walsh within it and not. Class is permanent, and I know who the neutrals would rather watch. The PDC know what they are doing. It might not be fair on some, but the prize money for EVERY dart player is the way that it is for business decisions like this

Can't say I disagree with this. I know its not an equal comparison - it's like saying the likes of Norwich and Brentford don't deserve to be in the Premier League because they're not 'the biggest clubs'.

If only there was a tournament that rewarded being top 10 in the rankings, just like the World Championship, Masters, UK Open, World Matchplay, World Grand Prix, World Cup of Darts, World Series Finals....

Some years back Ian White gave an interview think at his highest point in the OOM saying only way he was getting into the PL was to be in top 4 at season end so getting a guaranteed place.

He’s another who is an unappealing player to the masses who turn up at these events or watch on Sky.

Wasn’t it the case this year that it was pretty much known by everyone that Cross only got his PL place as it was guaranteed given he was 4th in OOM. If the WC results had gone against him and he had dropped to 5th which looked likely for a time he wouldn’t have got a place. Am also sure Durrant only got his wildcard as defending champion otherwise he would have ignored this year. His results showed he should have been.

If he loses the earrings and gets used to everything surounding the actual darts throwing, he'll be a force.

no guarantee mvg will be in the top four after the worlds and without a major win he will need an 'unfair' wildcard - should he get one if he doesn't win the GS?

in snooker they just give additional tour cards to those who want them and have done something for the game, she qualifies on both counts

Number of darts that he pushed left into the 5's kept giving smith a boost. Good pace to the match.
