Premier League 2022
Re: Premier League 2022
Those first four days in Germany as single block is problem. Okay they could move the PL night to U.K., but if they delay or cancel the ET causes problems with its qualifying. They already have some of the qualifiers at that ET1 carried over from this year’s cancelled ET3 as some qualifying events were held before cancelled. Would probably want to delay but that causes a fixture clash later in season as no spare weekends.
Would either need to play more PC midweek as ET given it has a crowd needs to be weekend. So would want to get in any postponements played before the summer.
Also they will need to decide can they really do a month in Australia and New Zealand for the 3 World Series events there. The US seems to be like England in living with Covid so the New York event should go ahead unless we get a new killer variant and global travel halted.

Re: Premier League 2022
Before that we have week 1 being played in Cardiff on 3rd February, which also has much tougher restrictions than England.malcy93 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 31, 2021 12:45 pmYou can check here.

Germany (Berlin) 24th Feb
Followed a day later by ET1 in Riesa.
They must both be at risk.
Netherlands (Rotterdam) 24th March.
The Dutch are still requiring all sport there to be behind closed doors. Guess the PDC will wait as long as possible before moving to U.K. or staying there with no crowd as that’s one of the largest venues in the PL, hoping rules get relaxed.
They also have ET2 Germany and ET3 Belgium in March.
Re: Premier League 2022
if no dutch players are in the top 4 next week then those legs can be held in milton keynes
wales can be binned off anyway, they're shutting themselves down

Re: Premier League 2022
Doesn't get any easy for the PDC these scheduling issues!

Re: Premier League 2022
Fallon does not deserve a place in the PL just because she's a woman and I think the match v Beaton has showed why she does not deserve a PL pick for now.
However, I'm pretty sure that one of the Sky picks will be Raymond van Barneveld.....

Re: Premier League 2022
Top 10 in Rankings. Decent enough without any token picks.
Re: Premier League 2022
8 nailed on for me:
Price
Wright
van Gerwen
Wade
Anderson
Smith
Cross
Clayton
Reckon de Sousa might get a place as world no.7 and PL finalist last year, so leaves one spot, most likely one of:
van den Bergh (world no.9, Matchplay finalist)
Barney
Sherrock
Price
Wright
van Gerwen
Wade
Anderson
Smith
Cross
Clayton

Re: Premier League 2022
Pfft, based on those options then Sherrock is an easy pick for Sky. Barney would be even more controversial than Sherrock. De Snooza vs Sherrock for a TV exhibition is not even a competition.
You are right about the other picks, nailed on.

Re: Premier League 2022
Top 3 - Clayton, Price, Wright - in
Wade - major winner and number 4 in all but name or higher - in
MvG - it'll be the last time he qualifies but because he's holding onto some old ranking money, like duzza and the pot last year, he probably has to be in unless the rules change again
Cross - major winner - in
Sherrock - biggest draw and promotional pull for the PDC and Sky - in
Anderson & Smith, whether they do any more in the worlds or not most likely to be in
that leaves one more, de Sousa has been hit and miss and couldn't sell a bottle of water in the desert, van den Bergh no chance, Rydz as a tourney winner and with his recent performances has a shout, Barney has done fuck all wherever he's turned up this year so no chance, Humphries with his recent performances and making 5 ranking/major finals this year has to be a big chance
the qualification rules don't matter as they can be changed at any time as it's their tourney and it's invitational anyway, there will have to be reserves however and if anyone is a spastic with catching covid again before it starts they will be binned so reserves could play a part - anybody in the frame should be careful what they do i reckon, if europe keeps fucking about with lockdowns they could all be over here again anyway

This is pretty much what I think too. Although I doubt Barney is in with a chance personally.mik252 wrote:8 nailed on for me:

Anderson has stated he wants a year away from it though. If he goes out in the semis they may "let" him do that.
