It was ridiculous until they scrapped entry fees. Until then the prize on offer was a massive invoice.

I dont really see the need for 2 stages or 2 venues

Now its a week long event just have everyone come to one venue for 7 days, 7 winners get cards and then OOM for the rest of the places.

Everyone can have a couple of bad days or bad draws, 7 full tournaments would see the best come through

Leonard Gates would probably have a tour card now if he'd chose the European Q School, rather than the UK. Consistantly in the high 90s, 100s with his averagaes

Looks like Rodriguez is going to miss out on a card again by 1 spot.
He needs the winner of Hendriks v Martinez (who will already have earned their card) to beat Horvat, plus either
- Schmutzler to beat De Vreede and not to win the day, EDIT and not to finish ahead on leg diff.
- OR De Vreede to beat Schmutzler and then lose to Kcuik

It's _way_ better with 2 stages. It just needs a rest day between the stages..

Narrowing down the field to the better players, and then playing for a card reduces the luck of the draw.

I think 1 stage could only work better if they reduced the randomness, but even then 7 days in a row isn't good.

However, before they scrapped the tournament entry fees, the price of Q School was a _lot_ lower.

Think he’s being bailed out by Martinez and Kciuk.

Edgar survived match darts to come back against Rout's tip Robert Rickwood. Will play Portewa in the quarter finals.

3-3.
Kciuk had a comfortable 6-1 against Schmutzler, so now just up to Martinez to save Rodriguez.

Horvat 3 - 4 Martinez. Martinez breaks back after Horvat missed the bull and 2 darts at double 8.

Wilkinson now into the card spots after surviving a whole bunch of match darts for warm, watery Beveridge.

EDIT Horvat 4 - 4 Martinez. Horvat breaks again and has the darts.
5-4.
EDIT Horvat 5-5 Martinez
Horvat missed 11 darts for his card, although 6 of them at the madhouse.

Wow.
After the mess of the 10th leg, Martinez wins 6-5 taking out 76 for a 12-darter, with Horvat sitting on double top.
Rodriguez earns the final tour card.

Winner of Pilgrim v Portela, which so far looks like it's going to be Portela.

UK Quarters:
Gillet (3+5) v Evetts (7,TC)
Day (4+13) v Rock (4+18)
Rafferty(4+22) v Wilkinson (5+16)
Edgar (3+12) v Portela (4+13)

Dennant is on the bubble at 5+14. But Wilkinson (5+16), 2 places above would drop below Dennant with a 3-6 loss or worse.

So now looking likely that 5 points and good leg difference earns a card, although it could be 6 points.

Yes, they're playing. It could potentially be relevant if Covid were to hit the Challenge Tour and they needed to use Q School positions for PCs.
