2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Colin Osborne with a 100 average to get into the Last 32 today, but has only got into the money in 3 out of 5 events this weekend. Tough school. Clearly he can still throw a dart.

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Of the five CT weekends this year, two are going to be in Germany.
Edgar reckons that one of those weeks is going cost him roughly a grand in expenses, so realistically no more than eight or nine of the couple of hundred players there are going to make a profit.

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Although a lot of those costs apply to UK based weekends as well. Unless you live close enough to MK to go home every night you will still need a hotel, food + drink, plus petrol costs to the venue, so while it may be a bit cheaper than the German weekend, very few players will actually make a profit either way.minimalist wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:02 pm £55 per tournament. £275

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
I would do an airbnb cut costs for accomodation to 100 Euros.
Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
For all the Leighton Bennet haters on here I think you would like to know that he give it the big one against Hine when taking out an 82 finish even though he only scored 78. He was slightly confused when game shot wasn't called.

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Tbh when I was playing the tour these venues in Germany etc were stuck in the middle of know where ( of course may be different now) so it was just as cost effective to stay in the main venue. Wot u saved on hotel u give it back in taxi fares
Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Of course it works both ways. THREE of the Challenge Tour weekends are in England. Thats going to cost the smelly stinking foreigners a grand a weekend. Three times.

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Maybe it’s time as numbers are good to slightly increase price money on challenge tour maybe to 12.5k per event

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
Sounds expensive for the players. Guess it would make the prize money huge though!
Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
I thought these poor cunts were at least getting free entry into these events, given the £450 they forked out for Q School.
If they're not in the top four or five in the OOM to threaten the top-up Pro Tour spots, there's no point in playing.
I was thinking at least the British players who earned about £500 or upwards would be coming out with a reasonable wage for three days' work, but it seems that all but a handful are spending ten hours at these venues to lose money.

Re: 2022 PDC Challenge Tour
£50 per event probably a bit steep tbh, make it £25 and it doesnt look too bad, and puts it on a par with the "alternative tour" ranking events.

The vast majority of players here are not in it for the money but for a weekend away on the piss with the lads.waddle147 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 26, 2022 9:28 am I thought these poor cunts were at least getting free entry into these events, given the £450 they forked out for Q School.

Some are. But if they want that WDF Opens are much better for that.
