I'm guessing that was something to do with the tables after halve-it.
No idea why, but when they put the scores in for that particular round it looks like they actually entered what the players scored as opposed to the points values. As McEwan got top score the table showed he was (incorrectly) on just over 700 points and ahead of the next player by around 60 points with only a few more rounds to play.
The organisers obviously realised their mistake and corrected it by putting in the proper points instead, and that moved McEwan well back down the field.
In halve-it whoever gets the highest score wins the cash prize whatever it is (£100 I think), but when entering it onto the points table you score it as 1 point for a single of the correct number, 3 for a treble, etc.
If this is why he tweeted then no idea what his issue is given he has played in the Pentathlon previously so should know how it is correctly scored on the points table.

All I heard it was an "issue over halve it", so aye, the summary above must be what happened I suppose.

They should just give the person at the top of the table all the points. The rest will end up benefiting from the points that trickle down the table eventually.
