Gawlas has had a big 2 days, getting a win in PC30 to make the WC, and now taking the final qualifying spot for the GSoD. That has been worth 12.5k in the TC race, and he's now in 61st. 1.75k above 64th. Gawlas, however, isn't in the PCF. so could be overtaken by a few players there.

Gawlas has pushed Kuivenhoven down to 65th in the TC race, and because is not in the PCF or WC, must qualify for the WC via the PDPA qualifier to have a chance of saving his card.

Zonneveld is 66th in the TC race, beat Wade in the qualifiers, but was beaten by Edhouse in the final match. But, Zonneveld has qualified for the PCF (L64 v Chisnall) and WC so has chances to retain his card.

On paper not as good a group of qualifiers as last year.

Van Barneveld and Schindler have qualified 2 years in a row.

3 qualifiers from last year, De Decker, Clemens and Stephen Bunting lost in the final games this year.

Top 32 players on the OOM who haven't qualified for the GSoD:
#5 Wade
#6 De Sousa
#11 Anderson
#19 Ratajski
#21 Bunting
#22 Dobey
#23 Clemens
#24 King
#25 Rydz
#26 Gurney
#27 Dolan
#28 Van der Voort
#30 Huybrechts
#32 Lewis

Sherrock drawn in Wright's group again.

Williams has the bad luck to be drawn with Rock, but they're not in too bad a group with Humphries and Searle, neither of whom is in good form.

Group H is the stand-out group, especially with the short format.

Group G also could see an upset for MVG.

D could also be interesting but not that much tbh.

You might be right about floor form but I'm not sure a group of death can ever contain zero TV champions.

while one cant deny the calibre of wdf players has diminished cant help wondering if old matt porter hasnt cocked up here, after all this was set up by the old loveable hearn as a cross code event so he (hearn) had sole charge of things, now its just another meh, group stages yes but even so hardly a must watch event on the darting year anymore,

It was the only reason the tournament existed. It's purpose has ceased to be. So should this car-crash of an event.

Shaping up to be another blackout curtain/low-lighting job, this one. Can barely give tickets away, just like the last PDC major in the UK. Look at the clip of this for Tuesday's session:

It's lost it's main appeal. But at least it differs in some way.
