Jacques 5 - 4 Richardson (Broke in 18)
Perez 5 - 1 Payne
Lee Palfreyman 5 -3 Scott Baker
Lewis 5- 2 Gilliland
Jim Walker 5 - 2 Hurrell (Jobber done. Ho, ho, ho.)
Gadsby 5 - 3 Quantock

The losers above are on 4 points and in an extremely good position to qualify for Stage 2 anyway.

Meanwhile, in Germany, ...

Recent NDB losing finalist Konterman is the first player through to stage 2, coming back from 2-4 down to beat Mooijman.

Properly called the Final Stage, it the stage that follows Stage 1, which is properly called the First Stage.

It's the bit they added on to try and showhorn their favourite players through.

I just thought someone won a card each day then they gave them out to the points table at the end.

The stage where most of the 40-60 average jobbers are removed.

The 2 stage (First + Final) Q School is one of the good things that came from COVID.
Not just to weed out the weaklings, but also reducing the field size to make it 128* like a PC, and only 1 winner. Not going to get a Beeney winning a card again.

* Or almost, since they don't have reserves to fill the field as players drop out. Hopefully they've fixed the stupid tie-breaker rules this year.

Wow, haven't seen Palfreyman in donkeys years. He reached the semis in Las Vegas in 2002, losing to Taylor.

He went to 2021 Q School, but not 2022.

I know he went to Q school in 2021, think he got knocked out early? He's has a decent run so far

Won 1 game in 2021, but average was a few points lower then, and importantly below 83.5.

Key win today was his highest average against McGeeney.

UK qualifier averages:
#2 96.01 Slevin, Dylan
#61 85.89 Jacques, Peter
#20 89.55 Perez, Christian
#81 84.41 Palfreyman, Lee
#7 93.81 Lewis, Jamie
#41 87.30 Walker, Jim
#101 82.95 Gadsby, Dale
#3 95.86 Pilgrim, Darryl

Perez had the easiest time overall, winning every game 5-1.
