Draw up.
Jacklin draws same board as Sherrock.
Straight out Image
Jacklin's dream of playing Fallon remains just that

2023WS1 Semi-finals

Suzuki v O'Sullivan
Van Wijgerden-Vermaat v Greaves

If Greaves and Suzuki win, they'd meet in their 6th WS final in 9 events.

138 players. Record turnout?

2023WS1 Final:
Suzuki v Greaves

The problem with the Women's Series is that there's only a couple of decent players.

After WS1 O'Sullivan is up to 8th. Women's Matchplay top 8 now:
Greaves, Suzuki, Ashton, De Graaf, Sheldon, Sherrock, Winstanley, O'Sullivan.

Compared to last year, that's Greaves, Suzuki and O'Sullivan that would be replacing Turner, Griffiths and O'Brien.
Substantial upgrade.

2023W1 Final:
94.34 Greaves, Beau 5 - 3 Suzuki, Mikuru 86.82

11-dart break at 3-3, and then held in 18 to win.
That's 9 in a row for Greaves, 6 of them with final wins against Suzuki.
Greaves has 10,000 in the Matchplay race.

Greaves is now qualified for the Matchplay. Her win in the final means she cannot be overtaken by 8 players, as with 11 events 8 players can at most win a total of 57,200, and 2nd to 9th would need to win 65,300 to match her.

2023WS2

Semi-Final
76.12 Holden 5-4 Ashton 76.18
90.06 Greaves 5-1 Suzuki 84.92

Final
81.68 Greaves 5-0 Holden 65.72

O'Sullivan QF added to her WS1 SF moved her up to 7th in the Women's Matchplay. Winstanley is 8th. Holden's L16 and F moved her up to 9th.

This is Suzuki's big chance to win one.

Suzuki finally gets another win. 1 win away from confirming her Matchplay spot. Obviously she's in, but she's not in-in yet.

WS4 boards:
1 Ashton
3 De Graaf
5 Winstanley
12 Greaves
13 O'Sullivan, Sherrock
14 Suzuki

I notice that Ana is playing this weekend.

Presumably she’ll now be under the England flag and not Russia?

PDC allows them to play as an stateless/international player, but her overall playing opportunities are reduced by not being able to play WDF.

Hard to argue against Greaves and Suzuki being comfortably the best two women players in the world right now

Well they were the best 2 players at 2022WS 13-16. And 2022WS 17-20. And now 2023WS 1-4.

But it's how far ahead of the rest they are. If you ignore the World Masters Suzuki has been fantastic in recent tournaments.

Fallon needs to have a few good runs to make sure she qualifies for the Matchplay, it is no longer a foregone conclusion.

And who is Kim Holden? She had a good weekend!
