Must be more to it than meets the eye. Breakdown in communication somewhere? How long do they get to get to the lane?
Truthfull answer, i suppose it depends who you are....
In kilarney, phil had his own room and a minder, and a person wud go and tell phil he was on next!!!
On a couple of occassions on the tour marking we had to wait for some of the bigger name players, even had officials go looking for them after saying at the start that no-one would be called and if you were not there you were out. It was not an issue though tbh but one wonders if they would have gone looking for a first time entrant
The officials will go looking for ANYONE if they know who they are, they probably just didn't know these chaps.
Shud that be the case, if they aint there surely they shud be scratched? Yes, that is the rule, i dont ee anywhere in the rules if the official knows the player he can go walk about to find him.

No not at all, this happens alot in the european events. Tabern was timed out last year.
In fairness thou, and he said so hjimself, he wasnt even in the same room Dave. Im sure youve seen it, if a big named player is no where to be seen the official will give him that extra time or go looking for him

Controversial!!
but true to a certain degree

That wasn't in the players championship though, and Whitlock was with him.
It was because they were getting mobbed, and they really were.
The minder was his, not supplied by anyone else, he's always with him these days.

There's no excuse for timing out, you know your board, you know roughly when you're on, all you have to do is keep an eye on it.
The problem can occur when a game is moved from your board onto the stage, this brings your game forward half an hour or so but again, you should be hanging around or at least popping back every 10 mins or so.

Totally agree. Thou it has happened me, as the toilet in the city west was busy, by the time i got back the game had been scrathed, now hardly rocket science, but i dont think you can tell someone they cant use the bathroom.

No excuse for people who time out. You know what board you are on and the order of play, so no sympathy I'm afraid.
