I have asked on fanatics, oche has asked on twitter.
out of interest if a booking was made would the BDO have to pay a deposit to the venue?

The party comes to Blackburn…
The BDO are excited to announce that the new venue for the BDO World Trophy will be the King George’s Hall in Blackburn.
The venue, based in the centre of Blackburn, will be home to the BDO World Trophy for the next three years, starting with the 2019 event, in a deal which ensures the longevity of the event for players and supporters alike.
The historic venue, which regularly hosts a variety of events, will be lit up as 48 of the BDO’s top male and female players will be fighting it out to be crowned champion.
28 Men and 14 Ladies have already secured their places, with the play-offs for the remaining four Men’s and two Ladies' places scheduled for Thursday 29th August prior to the commencement of the live finals which start on Friday 30th August, running through to Sunday 1st September!
This celebration of our top players will be shown live on Eurosport and information about how you can come along, soak up the atmosphere and cheer on these world-class players will be released over the next few days!

It's not going to happen. It basically can't happen.
The BDO are as good as insolvent.
It really is all over peeps.
The only thing that can change is a White Knight coming in. That ain't gonna happen.
The only other possibility was a headline sponsor coming in and paying some money upfront - enough to allow the BDO to commit to the venue/production company to go ahead. But now of course the accounts have been published no sponsor is going to come in and pay money in advance.
It. Is. All. Over.

Re: 2020 BDO WDT
The BDO have been stuck in a moment and they could not get out of it, so far.

well, yeah, I'm sure Oche will be along with one of his moronic statements about wishing death on the BDO ..in a pub or something..ILAD wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 3:49 pmHater.Skewball wrote: ↑Wed Mar 04, 2020 3:45 pm It's not going to happen. It basically can't happen.

It's just stating facts now. There is no satisfaction in any of this. I will be wanting to the WDF/EDO (etc) tour to work. It is important there is a strong amateur tour for everyone outside the 128 Pro Tour and 100 odd serious Challenger tour/Pro tour wannabes, as well as the Ladies and [proper] youth darts.
Re: 2020 BDO WDT
Skewy wants to wish death on the BDO whilst eating a packet of pork scratchings in a working mans club, and then will ring up the King George's Hall demanding info.
"You dont have a three year deal with them", he will bellow.

Re: 2020 BDO WDT
whatever folk want the fact is the BDO declared a 3 yr deal with the KGH. Today (unless the official reply was incorrect and the person got it wrong, as suggested on fanatics) its not booked in this year.
Now was it booked for 3 and the next 2 have been cancelled?
just booked for 1 with a hope for success?
Or was it booked for 1 year with a provisional for 2 more? This I think is what happened. otherwise it could have been a success and then the BDO may have lost the dates at the KGH.

"Rumours of a county delegates meeting to try and get answers in the BDO can’t come soon enough if true."
Dave Whitcombe on twitter.
Anyone any confidence in the county delegates sorting something out or getting answers?

No confidence what so ever! County delegates are afraid of any changes and are most of all only interested in their county. Who cares about an international circuit? Who cares it is being run about a liar and a cheater? It is all about county!
Re: 2020 BDO WDT
Strong opening post. And true.
Why would county players and county officials who are not involved on the circuit give a rat's arse?
They may even lose some money if the BDO folds but BICC is self funding and will survive.
Re: 2020 BDO WDT
Self funding? Have they got enough to cover the prize fund this year?DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 07, 2020 9:55 amStrong opening post. And true.

This virus could save the BDO for at least a year. With no TV majors to run then it's a year of not spending anything
