Re: PDC Order of Merit
Norris has done nothing this year. Like VdP, must be set to plummet next year unless he starts winning a few bob.

Re: PDC Order of Merit
So how they going to put Barneveld in the works cup this time now he so low ranked Klaasen above him again.
Re: PDC Order of Merit
World Cup?
As Van Gerwen most probably still will refuse to play with Klaasen I think it will be an easy fix.
To survive, is to be victorious!

Let's not forget that van de Pas could overtake Barney and solve the headache if he makes it to the quarter finals..

Re: PDC Order of Merit
I thought it was confirmed by Hearn that the top ranked player for a country gets the invite and then they choose their partner irrespective of rankings.
Wasn’t it changed after the Anderson & Wright and MVG & Klassen issues.

Re: PDC Order of Merit
I thought the year the Klassen was second he had already booked a holiday or was injured or some other excuse. I would find it hard to believe that the PDC would allow Anderson or Wright to be left out these days.
It is an invitational event though so will have to see. Life has to move on from Barney though and the Dutch need more than just a MVG to cheer on
Re: PDC Order of Merit
Even though he's currently the PDC Dutch Number 6, I'd hope that van Gerwen would choose de Zwaan. The Jolly Man wrote: ↑Thu Dec 27, 2018 3:39 pmI thought the year the Klassen was second he had already booked a holiday or was injured or some other excuse. Still a while to go yet, hopefully de Zwaan can rocket up the rankings yet. Won't be defending anything for a while which is a bonus

Re: PDC Order of Merit
Is this the first time 4 players ranked over 50 are in the last 16?

Re: PDC Order of Merit
Think Mensur will be worried for his PL place now.

Remember though this is all about selling on TV.DavidB wrote:Think Mensur will be worried for his PL place now.
He’s the top rated German speaker and the others haven’t really done much either this year.
Therefore more valuable for marketing than players like Chisnall or Wade. If they are looking to eliminate contenders they can remove Wade again and say he needs a break from darts after his WC meltdown.

Perhaps but Wright or Cross (who also haven’t done much this year) are qualified by right. Let’s temember also Mensur was dreadful in this year’s PL and usually that player is dropped for the following edition. Price only gets in as he’s Grand Slam champion otherwise he’d missed out also.
