Floor Managed on Saturday, so no marking.
Sunday:
Paul Nicholson 6-0 Mark Hylton
A mixture of Paul scoring well and Mark having a few poor scores meant that Paul had a comfortable first game. Mark told me he was changing a few things in his throw and I’m sure in a few months he’ll be back to winning ways.
Michael Barnard 6-3 Reece Robinson
Both players equally matched and a game that could’ve gone either way but Michael got the vital break in the 8th leg and held his throw for the win.
Kenny MacNeil 6-4 Wayne Jones
Ken played really well and was always in control after an early break, Wayne hung in and had darts to break back in the tenth but missed and allowed Kenny to close out the game.
Nick Fullwell 6-5 Ross Smith
Nick should’ve won 6-0 but missed a lot of doubles and found himself 5-4 down! But 2 good legs and a missed double by Ross allowed Nick to get home.
Paul Nicholson 6-3 Michael Barnard
Michael played well but Paul at 3-3, Paul got a break of throw and never looked back after that.
Kenny MacNeil 6-2 Nick Fullwell
More missed doubles allowed Kenny to go 4-0 up. Nick’s scoring is probably up there with the best of them but unfortunately the match was over at this point and the next few legs were shared out.
Kenny MacNeil 6-4 Paul Nicholson
Both players were equally matched and Kenny in particular was putting more pressure on Paul’s throw than the other way round. In the ninth leg Paul failed to take out 124 in 6 darts and Kenny got the break and then held for the win.
Jamie Caven 6-1 Robert Thornton (Quarter Final)
Jabba started off like a rocket and went 3-0 up in quick time with one break, Robert took the next but was then unable to win another leg and Jabba marched onto the semi finals with a 106 average!
Jamie Caven 6-4 Jelle Klaasen (Final)
Jelle won the bull and looked very dangerous in the opening legs, but Jabba was able to answer anything he did and then Jabba was hitting 2 treble scores seemingly at will. The turning point was at 4-4 with Jelle sat on a finish Jabba took out a sweet 146 checkout and then started the final leg with a another high score, which he then was able to consolidate with more of the same and finish on tops for the win, and what turns out to be a 110 ave.
