The biggest and most exciting comp for years starts tonight. Cant wait bring it on.

Anyone of six or seven players could realistically win it this year.

Thursday December 18
7.10pm John Part (30) v Keegan Brown
8.15pm Christian Perez v Cristo Reyes (P)
9.00pm Jelle Klaasen (29) v Christian Kist
10.00pm Michael van Gerwen (1) v Joe Cullen
11.00pm Wes Newton (13) v Christian Perez/Cristo Reyes.

Must admit a little excited about this starting tonight. Watched Part beat Taylor this morning on Sky Sports Darts channel! Nice way to start the day (though Painter was on next and he also could have beat Taylor!!).

MvG doesn't need to worry about being 'disrespected by the wall', I have see the piccie on fb. He's made the wall with a giant picture of his face (that should please the poster, can't remember his name, who has a slight problem with MvG and his gurning!).

Klaasen v Kist tie of tonight. Looking forward to that. Klaasen seems to have turned his fortunes around and moved on in his life and I've got to be honest I have never really rated Kist. maybe it is because after winning lakeside he kind of disappeared. But I am beginning to like and appreciate him.

Come on Wes!!!! Don't ruin your Christmas.

Could win: Wade, Taylor, MvG, Anderson
Could win, but not into great form: Lewis, Whitlock
Outsiders: Bunting, Wright, Thornton, Chisnall

Think the race will be won by one of those

7.10pm John Part (30) v Keegan Brown
8.15pm Christian Perez v Cristo Reyes (P)
9.00pm Jelle Klaasen (29) v Christian Kist
10.00pm Michael van Gerwen (1) v Joe Cullen
11.00pm Wes Newton (13) v Christian Perez/Cristo Reyes.

Brown to beat Part. Part hasnt been great all year, while Brown had some good scalps. Hoping for a win on experience for Part.
Kist vs Klaasen could go anyway. Kist however hasnt been convincing on tv so far, had a bad second half of the year, so I think Klaasen will take it.
MvG - Cullen should be a 3-0 or 3-1 for Van Gerwen
Newton - Perez will be one of the most boring games of the first round.

It would be more of a shock if Part beats Brown in all honesty. I expect Brown to win that comfortably and I would imagine he will be odds on with the bookies.

Part is done.

off topic a little but the PDC on the BBC: will it ever happen? promoting the PDC more that's a fact. Was it last year the final was on 5 Live?

reckon the PDC World Cup of Darts would be a great event to get onto the BBC. A weekends action and of course the international flavour of it.

But a highlights of Ally pally in the future? Afternoon show?

Roll on 7.00pm.

If as expected Bunting and Wade play in round 2 whoever comes out of that as winner will be on a massive confidence high and could really push anyone, still think it will be between Taylor and MVG but have learnt not to write Lewis out of this.

Although many of the others like Ando,Thorn,Whitlock,Chizzy & Wright could cause an upset they may struggle when it gets to best of 9 sets with consistency.

Barney is up and down like a yoyo so could win with a 105+ average then lose next round with an average around 90.

Tonight really looking forward to Klaasen V Kist.

Here we go then boys and girls!!

Come on Keegz, a nice 3-1 win tonight I hope.

I agree with Crusader, whoever wins 2nd round match between Wade and Bunting has a real chance of lifting the trophy in my opinion.
It's better to be lucky than good!

I'm on 3-1 too.

It'll take some getting used to the set not being red.

Conceivably this first game could be 3-zip to Keegan.

Toss a coin kinda match. But Klaasen has been the better on paper recently.
