Antonio Alcinas qualified for Gibraltar, but not for Hamburg. Sorry but I don't know any other result yet.

Ah cheers!
Was starting to think it might be a BDO comp in disguise.
No tickets on sale on the pdc site, brand partner is a sausage product.

This tournament is a bit of a nonsense to be honest, played in front of empty crowds every single year - the Gibraltarian government are putting the money up.

Well it isnt nonsense for your exact reason. The local government certainly put some if not a lot of money into it. Why should the PDC move it anywhere else? I get that the local qualifiers aren't as strong as others but it's a big pay day for the players.

It's nonsense because there is usually no f*cker there watching it.

A lot of Spanish used to play in this when it was open.

Is there a big steel tip market in Spain? Seems to be mainly soft tip.

Tennis is often played in front of empty stands around the tour but there are plenty more events. They must be successful for someone somewhere.

So why shouldn't the PDC run a big event in a different area of the world in which I assume break even. Why move it to Spain and run the risk of it running as a loss. It's one of your big concerns with the WDT at the moment so why want the PDC to do it?

The Catalonia events are always a blast!

They do seem to get 128+ players to the PDC world qualifiers

Never get a full room in gib, 2/3rds of the place is the rock, the only audience is the soldiers wives/girlfriends out of boredom.
Trust me, i've been there.

To an extent - however, some events are moved from locations which generate poor local interest.*

This isn't being denied.

Should the PDC stop an event in which they most likely break even?

Or as others have suggested move it to Spain and most probably lose money?
