Im sure I seen somewhere last year that the nine darter prize money was 52k and was in some way insured incase it was hit, To drop it from 52k to just 1k is ridiculous considering it has not been hit in how many years at Lakeside?

It means they either couldn't get insured or it was too expensive to insure against and a £1000 is alot cheaper than the insurance company wanted.

Given that the field includes now includes to ex top 10 PDC players one who has hit a 9 darter on TV would surely have scared any insurance company.

52k won't have helped. The last thing someone going for a 9-darter in the BDO needs is knowing that there's a substantial amount of money to be won.

Who says it has been decreased? As already said, the nine darter wording has always said £1k + £1k in the event rules, the additional £50k was never specified in this document.

I was mocking the use of the word "first". As if there's going to be more than one. Let alone one.

She has played in the previous years when the 52K was available to anyone so I doubt her being involved again this year would of caused the insurers any sleepless nights.

The premium for a lady hitting a 9 darter at Lakeside must be around the 50p mark anyway as it's only ever goign to happen if ladies are allowed to throw hedgehogs at the board.

Durrant price probably about right, but some decent odds on the unseeded players.

And Waites at 25/1 looks way too big.

Will be waiting until the draw before deciding on my bet.
