Re: Boxing Thread
If it was anyone else youd say it was over. But you cant rest with that right hand.
Fury is a superb boxer.

Re: Boxing Thread
Wilder is gonna be blaming the busted eardrum for the loss, so I expect a 3rd fight.

Re: Boxing Thread
how long does a busted ear take, will furry be able to squeeze an AJ fight in first if its more than six months?
Re: Boxing Thread
wilder got outboxed in the first fight and duffed up in the second, will he want another?
Re: Boxing Thread
furry is a shit singer tho
Re: Boxing Thread
I think itll be a while before joshua meets fury.
If Wilder doesnt take the rematch clause he will basically be admitting he isnt as good. I dont think his ego will allow it.

Already in the contract apparently.Rout wrote:Wilder is gonna be blaming the busted eardrum for the loss, so I expect a 3rd fight.
Anyway, easy for Fury, made Wilder look an ordinary boxer looking to land his one shot. He really is the complete package. Yes, his ear wasbuggered and seemed to effect his balance for the fight - but it came from his knockdown which he did well to get up anyway, that's when the fight was won
Re: Boxing Thread
amazing scenes, for once it was well worth getting up for

Re: Boxing Thread
Great stuff - the man is a proper heavyweight and can’t help but love his story and character.
My biggest hope is that Tyson stays on the straight and narrow and keeps doing the right things (whilst maintaining the positive aspects of his personality). He’s been in some bad places, and it’s easy to slip back into them when you think you are on a high and invincible.
Don’t think him v Joshua would be as straightforward as some pundits think mind. Let’s hope they get it on.

Its either take the rematch or retirement. Cant see any other path available for him at 34 years old.phil davies wrote:Yeah their is but would Wilder want it? Re: Boxing Thread
in the after fight interviews he came out with all sort of shit about being messed up coming into the fight, carrying injuries, a leg, and now he can say his ear or eyes are fucked and he can bow out on doctors advice a rich man
or he can wait for AJ being stripped a belt if he don't keep doing the mandatories - Pulev followed by Usyk should be his next two and he has had discretions before so if a belt becomes vacant...
then again, not counting the knockdowns Fury won every round in the first fight and was still robbed and duffed him up for 7 this time - can't see Wilder wanting it again as he knows he cannot box for shit but we can never guess what money that big might do

Re: Boxing Thread
Looking at Deontay's record, his list of opponents until Fury was more like a "who's that?" than a who's who.
His 32nd fight was against a bum so obscure that he doesn't even have a Wikipedia page. The one opponent aside from Fury that had any pedigree whatsoever was an ageing Luis Ortiz who outboxed him twice only to get caught by Wilder's single asset, his punching power.
The myth of Deontay Wilder got exposed. He built up a résumé by knocking out cherry picked third and fourth tier fighters. Although he did beat the legend Audley Harrison.

Most of his opponents had their sponsors logos on the soles of their shoes.Thehateful180 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 23, 2020 3:29 pm Looking at Deontay's record, his list of opponents until Fury was more like a "who's that?" than a who's who.

That said, I thought boxers were disqualified for pinching.
