Visa issues Cadby
Re: Visa issues Cadby
I can remember years back I took over a job where the previous person in the role had hired a Romanian into the team. This was in the era pre Romanians having working rights in UK through EU, so the applicant had to get a visa. 9 months later he still hadn’t got his visa so had to get union and HR to agree to terminating the job offer. We needed someone in the job and with visa issues it’s how long is a piece of string the Home Office at the time wouldn’t give any update of application progress or how much longer.
Given though Cadby got his tour card in January and applied soon after 7 months and counting isn’t an unreasonable wait but there is still no guarantee he will get one.

So, were Dawson Murschell AMD Simon Whitlock (years AFP) ‘lucky’ that they were given a visa a lot quicker?
Re: Visa issues Cadby
Simon Whitlock has British ancestry and Dawson is not from Australia.
Re: Visa issues Cadby
I know he’s drom Canada but he needs a visa as well right?
Re: Visa issues Cadby
The home office is taking it's merry time on all applications it seems but considering it's a work visa for someone with a job offer (tour card) and from a friendly nation it is taking far too long.

Cadby is being treated badly but its typical of the UK picking on someone like him whilst letting in hundreds of thousands of people we know zero about.

Has he got a visa sorted out yet ? All well and good playing in 2 exhibition events in your own country. But will he be playing in the main event come December?
Re: Visa issues Cadby

Personally I don't think he will get issued with a visa anytime soon, and would be very surprised if we see him in this country in 2018.

Re: Visa issues Cadby
To stay longer than 6 months straight in the UK Australians and Canadians need visas. I remember reading on twitter Dawson returned to Canada to get his Visa and was back to the UK for the very next players championship. No idea if the process is easier for Canadians but he definitely stated he was going back get his visa sorted.
Re: Visa issues Cadby
It shouldn’t be taking this long, for any country, not even the Russias, Chinas, or Indias of this word who seem to create paperwork just to justify persons jobs.
Either give the guy the visa or reject it. Don’t leave him hanging because surely it’s affecting him and his family.
That said, sure as hell, if it was him going to Australia being British, he would’ve been rejected straight away.
